Robins lucky Rudoni isn't there to head in a hat trick.
Couple of half decent players at Stoke still. Burger hasn't had a good season but i do like him when he's on it, rate Manhoef too if he's fit he'll be a threat, especially as our LB area can be dodgy at times...
All that said, we should have too much for these. Think i'll say 2-0.

Me attending aside, the law of averages suggest we are due not to win. has the club ever won 9/10?....

That said, on paper surely it is another excellent opportunity for 3 points (as is Derby who are utter dogshit).

Sheaf for Eccles, Allen for Rudoni. Get Torp on after 60 mins. Another 25/30 minutes for Haji.

Need to tighten up our left hand side.
No way our opponents don't mark it down as a potential achieves heel after watching Saturdays game.
Should still have enough to beat these though even with Rudoni absent.

Rudoni will be sorely missed. Torp would have been the obvious replacement.

I favour Paterson but it looks like Frank does not. So it's either Eccles or Allen I guess, neither of whom enthuse me.

I'd give Haji and Paterson extended time regardless of the score.

EMC and Bidwell to get their act together on the left hand side

what on earth have you seen of paterson so far that makes you think he should be getting more time he’s looked awful

Why? Paterson has looked dreadful when he's come on to the point where I genuinely don't know why we bothered signing him except for the sentimental video.

He looks too far off the pace to even be in consideration to start.

Looks like they've got a few players potentially back from injury/illness for this one.

Hoping having Rudoni out doesn't derail us too much. Big ask to replace his creativity from existing options in midfield but need to find a way to play without him.

Stoke have been dreadful away from home recently. Only the one win in 10 matches which was recently against Hull.

Attacking midfield is Paterson's position. You can see the argument for him playing some minutes with Grimes and Sheaf or Grimes and Eccles.

Less positional discipline needed there so the rustiness he's shown on the left won't be an issue. If he's not going to play, what's the point signing him?

I don't see us switching from this system so it's three from Grimes, Sheaf, Eccles, Torp, Paterson and Allen. That's a pretty good position to be in tbf.

And how has he reached the conclusion that Lampard doesn't fancy him?

Doesn't seem his type

This is banana skin we have to be careful of. Rudoni will be a big miss, but hope the others (Torp, Sheaf, Allen) can fill the void. Expected more from Patterson, but he’s underwhelmed so far. Would like to see Wright get more minutes and get back to game shape soon.

Baker and Bae have scored a few recently for them and are obvious danger men. Think Robins will be keen to get one over DK. So we’ll have to be wary and get a goal early to calm things down. I expected Oxford to be easy, but it was anything but that.

I think dreadful is an exaggeration, off the pace is fair.

Is it? Didn't he literally fall over the ball when attempting to trap it late on vs Oxford. Granted he's been out the game a while but he's struggling with pretty basic fundamentals which I find slightly concerning.

I think if anything off the pace at this stage is probably an understatement.

Peterson looks to be the only one with the requisite close control and distribution skills in tight spaces that is a number one prerequisite. Allen certainly doesn't have them and I suspect nor does Eccles. Both will lose possession too often

Even though he looked a bit ring rusty, it was pretty obvious to me that Paterson did have the skill

But it is academic Frank isn't going to do it or else he would have brought Paterson on earlier at Oxford. So you can rest easy
