Whether we get 3 points or not will be down to the players and how they play. I doubt they'll be affected by what's going on in the stands, which I think will be restricted to a pre game name chant, though after the Hamer corner malarkey you can never be certain.

Hope so. I love the bloke and I hope he gets his name sung loudly after the game with a win in the bag. 4-6 points in the next 2 would take the pressure off (slightly) for the following 3

Unfortunately it’s not some meaningless end of season dead rubber where a creditable draw can be played out and all sides leave with some dignity.
It’s an absolutely crucial game for us to keep piling up points before our “tough fixtures”
It’s also pretty important for Stoke to at least get a point.
It’s actually a game where the result is more important to both teams than the occasion.

Just did a bit on central news. Paraphrasing…

Robins
Nice to go back and see some people.
The fans were brilliant to me.
Great time there.
Results weren’t good enough but the form now and data at the time suggests I built a good squad.
Hope the Coventry fans have a miserable game and we win.

Lampard
Robins deserves a great reception and I’ll be joining in.

Has anybody seen the Robins interview before the game? Could be reading too much into it, but he slips up a bit in the first minute still referring to Cov as ‘we’ haha.

Robins will have been in the away dugout for both Coventry/Stoke fixtures in the same season.

This isn't just another football game with an old manager returning.
Coventry City should beat Stoke City.
However, the opposition manager signed these players, (Grimes aside) has seen them day to day in training, away from the training ground, on overnight trips. He knows them tactically, physically and mentally.
He's admitted he knows and wants to exploit weaknesses that we have.

This will be Lampard and his staff's most difficult game to date (Leeds aside possibly )and will be a huge test of their tactical and adaptive nous.

I reckon it’s all emperors new clothes though Shep. Mostly the mentality thing.

It looked clear they’d stopped playing for him and it was far past stale. They’re refreshed with a new sense of belief with ‘updated’ (for want of a better word) tactics, ideas and attitudes. Meh, we’ll see. You might be right. I reckon we’ll send them packing with a 4-1 loss on their hands. If they shithouse a 1-0 win you won’t see me.

Robins in his press conference: Frank Lampard has done a fantastic job but the data suggested this (good run) was likely to happen....

Think you're over thinking it.
I reckon the only way Stoke get anything is if we have a massive off day or they have a huge slice of luck, (or a combo of both).

They'll be some incredible mental gymnastics going on in the heads of some posters on here now Lampard's said that.

Great humility from the manager, be more like Frank!

Have been thinking - from the other side...
How invested are Stoke's players in Robins?
Fans have been on his back too.
He could go a bit OTT in trying to win at his old club and the players not buy into it...??

I doubt he'll approach this game differently than any other.
And like most teams in that position, he'll know that it's the home form which will really determine if they survive or not.
