Wasn't it good to see so many legends turn up and get the respect from the crowd that they deserve. Less people were on the concourse at HT, which was good to see.

I don't know too many of them either, BUT at a time like this when sisWHO are around it's a good show of the history of our club. We are not just a three season business, but a culture and have a place in the city dynamics.

Totally agree. I had a fantastic day. Didn't see any Cheerleaders though, must've been while i was working just before KO. Place you bets please.

Ian Wallace, best striker we've every had, Ian Gibson, midfield genius his performance against Wolves in '67 was sublime , Tommy Hutch greatest ever Sky Blue, sad to see Ernie Machine is a wheel chair though, another great midfielder.... wonderful to see them all again. I can't tell how good some of these players were

yep I stood and chatted to Whelan for a while as well, very nice bloke and he confirmed he has applied for the managers job.

I still think when they do this legends day thing bring the old boys out before the game. It might just liven the crowd a bit & make for a better atmosphere at kick-off..

Whelan holds a UEFA B coaching Licence.[11] Whelan first started his coaching career as a player coach at Dumfermerline. After his playing career came to an end Whelan worked as a youth team coach at one of his former clubs Derby County, but after more than 12 months as a coach at Derby, Whelan decided that his commute from Harrogate was too much of a strain.[12] Since leaving his role at Derby Whelan has been involved in the hospitality circuit at another of his former clubs Coventry City.
On 17th Novemember 2010, Whelan revealed he has put his name forward for a role working within Leeds United's academy

Have to agree with this. Get a few of them to say a few words of encouragement, maybe get a few to kick a ball about a bit, get the morale and atmosphere going inside the ground.

He's a youth coach at Derby at quite a young age group i believe it's under 12's he described it as the best thing in football apart from playing.
