Just thinking back to final game chaos… I’ll kick off with

1. Villa away… Regis scoring for Villa and then trying to get out of the Holt end fully intact!!! We lost but stayed up.

2. Tottenham away … what a day that was. Delayed KO Sunderland going down. Boom!!

3. Leeds at home… nothing to play for if I recall but pitch invasion at the end. I lost my shit for some reason with a ginger Leeds fan.

I don’t get as emotionally involved these days but I certainly did back in the day. I’ll let someone else confirm the dates. I’d guess early 90’s for Villa, 94 for Leeds and 97 for Spurs. It I have a really bad memory.

92 Villa. Same as you had to flee the Holte end moments before kick off. Spurs deffo 97 but played Leeds twice on last game of the season, 93 & 96. 96 mattered and we stayed up as results elsewhere went our way. Pitch invasions on both occasions with on field fighting.

I remember that (and the pitch invasion), but I don't thunk it was nothing to play for.

I recall us having to match Man City's result. They went 2 nil down to someone (Liverpool?), and brought it back to 2-2, and everyone was very worried. That's how it stayed, though, and we stayed up.

Found out when I got home that Man City's manager (Reid?) had got mixed up, thought a draw was enough, and got his side to protect their point rather than go for the win when getting back into it.

Too young for the top flight escapes but just 2 years ago the trip to Boro to secure a playoff spot was something else. The surreal feeling of being in uncharted territory at full time and finally qualifying for something I was used to seeing other teams get. Great day.

I think that was 83/84. We got Mick Ferguson on loan from Birmingham and his winning goal relegated Birmingham

Wasn't it Robert Rosario who's header hit the inside of the post and straight into Perry Sucklings arms

Surprised nobody has mentioned the most (in)famous of all - 1977 v Bristol City - I wasn't there for this one but a week or so before was present for the 0-0 against treble chasing Liverpool.
Right at the front of Spion Kop to witness a City player (can't remember who) crashing a shot against the under side of the cross bar and bouncing down on the line and away to safety.

Here’s some vague clues that someone might be able to piece together…I remember listening to a final game of the season, where due to the scores it was us rather than Luton going down. The scores changed and Luton were relegated.
I was probably about 12.

I remember the night before - There were loads of Sunderland fans in Covent Garden, who to be fair were really good in the main, we were laughing and joking with them. Just before we left to go elsewhere a few more Blunderland turned up who were far, far more cocky, loud and confident that they would get the result that would send us down the next day - I think they only needed a draw at Wimbledon but ended up losing

This game was fantastic but not for the heart. oggy's penalty save right in front of sky blue fans was the best.

I don't remember a penalty save, Oggy made a couple of brilliant saves at the end as Spurs were pushing for an equaliser

Yeah I was struggling to recall Oggy making a penalty save in this game.

Yeah there was no penalty save, but there were at least two one-on-ones. Think it was also Sheringham’s last game for Spurs.
