Anyone else watching?

Just caught the last 10 mins and have to say I am not at all happy about the insensitivity of the Sky commentator.


Basically, the Hull keeper dropped the ball from a corner and an on rushing Sheff Weds forward bundled the ball into the net, kicking the keeper in the head in the process.

The keeper lay prostrate on the goal line for 9 mins 40 secs and was surrounded by at least 6 medical staff, including doctors etc. Put in a neck brace and taken off on a stretcher.

So what did the commentator do? Show concern? Nope. Just kept talking about the keeper being at fault for the goal and also for the first goal and how Sheff Weds could well now win and what Hull had to do to get back into the game etc. Basically chatting away for at least 6 or 7 mins and showed no compassion or concern at all at any point for the Hull keeper, who was obviously very seriously hurt.

The game stopped for 11 mins.

You would have expected the entire time to be talk of concern etc. or at least be constantly referred to rather than just keep talking about the error and how he was at fault etc. To just carry on as if nothing had happened was in very poor taste.

Game still going. Now in 101st minute.

I turned it on after the incident and thought it was strange there was no mention of concern even though it seemed the bloke was badly injured. I know it's cynical, but if it had happened in the prem would it have been the same?

He started talking about it after about 10 mins, but just seemed to totally ignore it for the first 7 or 8 at least.

The keeper hardly moved and was obviously really badly injured, yet the commentator merely talked about how he was at fault for the goal.

Ah, I've only seen the replay from behind the goal, you couldn't see that on that angle.

Would have been a clear foul otherwise for sure. Definite booking too.

I seen it and to me it just looked like a strong knee to the face , keeper was holding his face so i thought it hurt him, wasn't concerned , if it was as bad (serious) as you're making out he wouldn't have been able to hold his face because he would have been knocked out ? it was like a hard smack to the face and he was laid out but not knocked out - no need for such concern surely ? probably mild concussion or something ?

Shouldn't it have been a booking anyway? You can get booked for stuff when the balls not in play, in fact you can get booked/sent off in the tunnel and changing rooms

One of my friends at Uni had his eye socket shattered charging down a kick playing rugby....he had to have a few ops to sort it out.
