If we get to the final, I don't think there will be any problems with getting tickets. You get far more for the JPT than any othe competition.

Not there yet.. stop counting chickens b4 they're hatched!

Last year initial allocations were 36000 Swindon and 21000 Chesterfield so if we make it we would probably get at least 45000 that Southampton got seeing as the other two clubs in the southern section have much smaller fan bases.

Lets not talk our selves down lads, we could shift 60k easily.
Anyone one go to the charity shield match against everton? The highest gate ever for one of those......70% city.
Going back now and i'm sure you younger fans will find this hard to believe but at one time we was the 5th best supported club, average gate 38000 ! PUSB

60k is a little too far, it's only the JPT!

I take it your one of the younger ones then, and your right it is only the paint pot......but........

Haven't even seen Coventry City play a Premier League game yet! :(

It is only the JPT, great opportunity to go to Wembley following 'your team', but I doubt we have 60k fans (at all), especially those who are willing to pay mega prices and to watch a mediocre game of football (for premier league prices!) 40k is my prediction. 35k absolute minimum.

A few years ago a Birmingham City fan wrote to the Daily Telegraph asking if their support at Wembley in I think a play off final, of 50,000 was the largest support any team had taken to there. The reply came back: No it may surprise you to hear that those 'perenial strugglers' Coventry City took 55,000 out of a crowd of 80,000 to the Charity Shield game! In 87 so without counting our chickens IF we get there could we break OUR own record!

I thought we only had about 10,000 fans?? Where are these 30/40,000 coming from :D in all seriousness I just hope we sell out initial allocation :)

Think we'd shift 35/40k quite comfortably.

Every man and his dog would be out for this one. A few of my lot who ain't been up in 10 years have already said they would be there.

It doesn't matter if it the playoffs or tinpot. A lot of our fans have never seen us play at Wembley. Most of them will want to go. Most STH's will want to go. The glory supporters will be there  People like myself that live a long way away will want to be there. Fans that live abroad will want to be there.

The last time I saw us at wembley was 25 years ago. If we make it this year it could easily be another 25 years or more for the next visit. Not something that happens frequently for us. If we do well in the league as well as the tinpot I can see us selling whatever we get.

yep there's always one with a different view rather than a sheep.

I'll be there but will there be as many interested as a showpiece FA Cup Final in 1987.

Times have moved on in a quarter of a century

The thing is Macca in those 25 years we have gone from being a top flight club playing the top teams year in year out, to a 3rd division side who have had little or nothing to shout about.

Personally, I never got to see us play at Wembley (Damn you Old Man!!!) and it really is a dream to see us play there. For me, and many others, to see Cov at Wembley really would be the pinnacle regardless of what cup it is and who it is against.

I think you are underestimating slightly just how many people would go to this game. If you think 11.5k went to Old Trafford in midweek to watch us in the Carling Cup I can certainly see triple that going to Wembley on a Saturday to see us in with a chance of actually winning something!!

I ve not said that no one cares. I just think that the amount of hangers on CCFC wise has decreased over the years. If it was a big showpiece cup final it might be different. Don t get me wrong we will take plenty but I reckon it would be closer to 25K
