Lets face it, would I prefer to go to Wembley In the playoff final or JPT, playoffs of course. I think I could enjoy the JPT more as I wouldnt be too gutted if we lost but I would be distraught if we lost the playoffs at Wembley!

I realise for most people on here the JPT is the best thing to ever happen in Football, but most fans of every other self respecting club view it as a joke, what did you expect? It shows how low peoples opinions have become of their own team when even Crewe's fans show more ambition.

They've had recent 'success' being a trip to wembley last year and promotion. We've had nothing for years. The JPT is a bit of a joke for me, but it's extra days out supporting my team and, hopefully, a session in London.

No news here.

I don't see it as low ambition by us. Ofc it's not as special for them because they won the playoff final there, but hardly our fault we've not been promoted from League 2. Their idea of success is getting to a league we're unhappy at being in so comparing ambitions is a mute point. We've not won a trophy in my life time, nothing low about it. Ofc I'd take promotion over it but when else are we going to get this chance at a cup final again - not for a while I'd assume. It's not 87 and we're not some Prem team anymore that could aim for the FA or Capital One cup. Could be in the future but 1 step at a time.

For me it's a bit of a jolly , in footballing terms it's a joke.
As others say, chance of a laugh and a day out which in the context of the last decade is fine. It's the Simod cup of the modern era!

Absolutely nothing to do with low people's 'opinions' and has everything to do with a club that has had no top 6 finish or play-off for over 40 years and no success of any kind for nearly 30 years.

Yes that's a good comparison. Never understood that cups purpose either.

I suppose they will regardless of if its Coventry or Crewe who gets there.

For some it's a bit like shopping it waitrose most of your life and now pretending Aldi is just as good.

Nice to see the new Wembley though.

Don't forget if its a day out at Wembley your after the only option is the JPT, the play off final I think I'm correct in saying will be played at Old Trafford.

Yeah you're right, they've sorted it since I last checked, it had been said it would be played at Old Trafford due to clashes with the Champions League final, seems they've changed the dates so it can still be played at Wembley

I think Wembley will be praying that we win the semi, 45,000 passionate Cov fans or 6,000 from Crewe, let's hope the organisers arrange a "homer" for the first leg.

If there's so much apathy from Crewe fans and they're not likely to get near a sell out, surely the club still can give the other small stand to away fans? If there's enough will. It''d be worth nearly 20 grand to them.

I for one love the JPT. How many years of pain have we been through, with absolutely nothing to shout about. I don't care if its a second rate cup. Its our chance to acutally win something. Bring the fans back, and gives us the impetus for the rest of the season, they may result in going to Wembley again in the play offs. For me that is a dream. So stop doing down the JPT, its our first chance of glory since '87. I for one am praying we get to the final.

The Southampton fans I know (all three) loved their JPT win. Who gives a shit if people look down on it? Set out to win everything you can, and enjoy if it happens.

At the end of the day it'll be a great day out. We should be thankful that the JPT has given us an opportunity to get to Wembley. Yes theres a chance we'll get there for the playoffs, but you can use the first visit to decide which pubs to use on the day of playoff final! ha

Could you imagine the disadain we would heap upon, say a Chesterfield fan, if they came on here crowing about how they're a big club because they won the JPT?

No one is suggesting for a second that winning (should we do so) the JPT makes us a bigger club it would however be good money, a fantastic day out, get the club to winning ways, be some very welcome sunshine amoungst the storms of the last decade of being a Coventry fan. It would be awesome so fingers crossed.

your wrong dude! but doesnt matter anyway its the occasion that is more imprtant that the venue. Been to Wembley, its very nice.

Agreed, but winning it would give us massive momentum and confidence (and hopefully help with consistency).

Wembley is a huge playing surface where confidence on the ball is massive. A big maybe still but if we reached the play off final nerves would be a damn site less for a win in the JPT.

The whole time we were in the Championship and you would look at the JPT and I would think 'Mickey mouse cup' but now we are in it lets win it and enjoy the day out while we can. People are getting too ahead of themselves though, the Crewe legs will be very eveningly matched IMO.

A whole generation of fans has grown up without seeing the Sky Blues win anything. That's just one reason why the JPT is worthwhile.

Watched us play at the old Wembley when I was a teenager (just). Want to eatch us at the new one. What is wrong with that?

You must remember Crewe is a town of around 60,000 people compared to Coventry`s population of what, 300.000? its very difficult at times to get people to support us here apart from our hardcore of 4.000 or so, with Crewe being central too there`s loads of supporters who go to watch the big Prem teams each week, droves go to UTD, LIVERPOOL, STOKE etc instead of watching us, hard to take sometimes but its always been his way and sometimes certain games don`t generate much excitement as they would for a city team like yourself, i`m looking forward to both games anyhow!
