Anyone pro City? (5 Viewers)

Fed up to the back teeth now hearing about the anti-Sisu brigade this and the pro-Sisu brigade that and the anti-ACL brigade and the pro-ACL brigade.

It's all becoming very, very tiresome.

Do believe apart from a few on here, most people have a distrust of Sisu but are also not at all enamoured with Coventry City Council either.

Let's face, have any of us ever been truly happy with any local council historically anywhere in the land?

Do any of us truly believe any politicians?

Sorry, but there are guilty parties on both sides and yet we have thread after thread after thread (two main culprits being Grendel and Dongo), both of whom I think are decent posters on SBT normally.

But now it is like Chinese Water Torture with a my bollocks are bigger than your bollocks mentality at times on here.

Post after post after post and endless threads trying to justify each side.

I am pro Coventry City and pro Coventry, as it is my city. Just don't seem to see this point in going round in circles.

Instead of trying to apportion blame everyone shouldn't be concentrating on how we get out of this mess and what needs to be done?

Think we need unity not division. The past is the past, let's not dwell on it. We need to lobby both sides in order for them to reach an agreement pure and simple.

Do you admit that my bollocks are bigger than your bollocks after a rebate?

Answer my question.

Well put,

I avoid more posts than I read at the minute as I have no interest in going over the same shit time and again. I personally can't affect what is going on behind the scenes currently so I'm putting my efforts in supporting the team through the tail end of the season

Am I the only one who is getting bored of the SISU / ACL stuff? I don't want to become a business lawyer or accountant. I just want to go and watch a football match every week!

It gets gayer than Twilight Team Jacob and Team Edward whereas you are instantly pro or anti if you agree with something.

I have agreed with things both SISU and ACL have said.

I don't think ANYTHING the fans do will affect things with SISU / ACL anyway so protest as much as you want, I am going to watch the game.

I've never been pro-council.

My stance has always been the the rent is too high and that the club should be treated fairly and on par with other clubs up and down the land.

I have always said they should get food and beverage money too.

I do on other hand though believe that CCFC should pay the outstanding debt, or at least a large proportion of it.

I did write to Mutton chops once because I was concerned like many others of Sisu getting their hands on the whole stadium.

Never been pro council or ACL though. Have always sought fairness on both sides, but have always wanted the best for both CCFC and the city of Coventry.

I agree with the sentiment of the op, but it's a bit like TV. If I find something I don't like then I turn the channel over and can never understand people who write to complain. Similarly if you don't like the content of the post, ignore it or don't botehr reading it.

I too find it tiresome, but if they truely believe what they are typing on either side, then they are harming nobody (albeit a futile waste of their own time) and as such they are perfectly entitiled to post and exercise their right to free speech. I think we all have a common goal that is we want CCFC to do well and we have different opinions and ideas on how that can be achieved. Until we can prove one way or the other, then it's nothing more than speculation but that doesn't make it wrong and nor so to express themselves.

Yeah, people are free to post what they want and create threads.

There are just far too many of them and invariably they always resort back to the original basic arguments on each side.

I would just ignore them, but there have been a number of posts where it is made out they are telling you something new.

They are quite often not though and it's just the same argument each time.

I kind of agree, but it would be a pretty boring and pointless forum if we all just got on and agreed all the time. As long as it's constructive I love to read a complete rant. In fact I like to imagine someone sitting at their screen most probably wearing nothing but their smalls as the red mist descends and they seethe in rage unable to do anything about it.

No - you are not alone. So much on and off this forum has been said by many people...but at the end of the day all we as fans can do is cheer or boo according to our mindset regarding what happens on the pitch - as it happens preferably.
Ideally keep it positive & we will all feel so much better.

I think I might start a thread to say that I'm sick of people complaining that they are sick of threads about whether someone is one side or the other. It's quite a circular argument but will fill my afternoons work as I look busy typing :)

So, so true....it's a bit like a merry-go-round that no-one wants to get off. Otis and yourself have nailed it on the head, if you question anything form either side you immediately get attacked by the other side and the level of personal insults bandied about are disgraceful. Even though there has been plenty of factual, unbiased information posted by members such as OSB and yet each side wants to cling to its own solitary interpretation, howling down the other.

I've basically given up on the roundabout...stop the world I want to get off and just talk about Sky Blue football!

For what its worth my opinion is that given the stance of SISU, which goes against everything I believe in, I am firmly of the view that CCFC through its owners are playing a game of brinkmanship which if it goes against them will possibly finish the club as we know it. If that is the case then the owners deserve it.
All these figures bandied about are immaterial whether it is fair or not, its what was agreed, signed and only through relegation, diminishing attendances, reduced revenues have they taken this position. Its fine trying to negotiate a reduction but to ride over them is unacceptable to me.
I sincerely hope common sense will prevail and the council and ACL will blink but why the hell should they, for a bunch of charlatans.

Yes i agree enough is enouh and we cannot effect any decision come what may but I would love to actually see the ACL offer that was made in detail because there is some lying going on between ACL & CCFC:claping hands:

A lot of the posturing about this in various threads backs up my theory that the less someone knows about a subject the more they'll shout about it. I miss when football was just a sport.

This is kind of alluding to what I was saying in a post the other day - its quite frankly ridiculous what we are going through as a football fan.

How can any of us really............and I mean REALLY...say hand on heart we know what is fully going on, who to blame, whos in the right, etc.......in this situation? Like you originally say Otis there has got to be blame on every side to this.

And people on here are arguing - if you dont back SISU you are anti CCFC. we are all honest fans of the football club, not the management behind the stadium, not the consortium that runs the club, its our cities football club. Why would we all argue and lose unity on an issue that lets face it none of us really know (fully at least) what is going on.

That's what a lot of people shout at the Gypsies.
I totally agree that its Futile and have withdrawn from joining the debate even though i have very fixed views on what is occurring. We all know our own minds and no amount of hysteria or mass posting can really influence which way you sway or not,it is ruining the forum. By the way i have likened SISU to PIKIES for around 2 yrs now!!!!;)
Just Trolling.
