Thanks for re-posting that JG, Apparently none of that definitely rules out Nene Park.
13.4 would appear to be the only stumbling block, where the board would need to rule on what it considered to be Coventry's "conurbation" then if necessary whether they would make an exception for a temporary ground outside it. I think they would allow it if it was only temporary.
Nene Park itself would appear to be an excellent option.
  • Its pretty new,
  • Its fully available with no compromise on fixtures
  • It would probably cost much less than 100k pa
  • pretty accessible, the A14 is a direct route, and car sharing could be good.
  • the capacity (6.5k) is not a million miles off, given that some might not bother and perhaps it could be expanded.
  • maybe a ground that we can fill, (and expand) would suit us better than the Ricoh
  • a financial model based on this option would probably save the club money and make more money available to spend on the playing squad
  • that would give us a better chance to get back up!
I don't think it's as totally daft as suggested, and it perhaps demonstrates problems with the Ricoh.

:pimp:
What utter bloody tripe !! Just say it cost the average supporter £250 extra per season x 6000 = £1.5 million.............to save the club what? £300K.............they could do that by fucking off some of the deadwood in the squad !

If they could offload Wood, Sheff, Bell and Murphy they could save £1.5 million (allegedly) - like has been said before the rent was only one of the clubs problems but the biggest is the unsustainable wage bill

If four players cost £1.5m we have what another 30 players? If they on average get paid £1500 pw (Thats not an unreasonable guess is it?) that equates to £2.34m. Total players wages bill £3.84m

Then add to it manager, coaches, support staff, academy wages, directors, commercial staff and office staff, shop staff, safety staff, stewards etc....plus the cost of employers National insurance ............................ are we spending £5m+ in total wages out of a turnover of say £7m including player sales ?

" IF " we move to a 6500 capacity stadium for three years, while this mythical stadium is built, then we will have to expect that those who won't go, or can't go, or can't get in will not be there to see the first game in it when it opens. I have no interest in supporting the Nene park sky blues.

Something doesn't add up, but don't expect any published accounts anytime soon.

However, in the 2012/13 season, the SCMP will come into force in League One, when the threshold will be reduced to 65% (decreasing each season thereafter) and sanctions will be imposed on those clubs breaching the rules.

But we wouldn't and I don't think it has been seriously considered moving to Nene Park, Nene Park for crying out loud!

I heard we are planning to move to Coventry Copsewood and build our new staidium there, with a capacity of 18,000. Could be wrong but who knows.

When Rotherham moved the six miles to play at the Don Valley stadium, they had to pay a huge bond, about a million pounds or so to the football league and promised to be back in Rotherham within five years.

It would would take SISU five years arguing about the bond before any move would take place :jerkit:

we are going nowhere:whistle: on and off the pitch lol

Agree with Coundonskyblue - it is not financial viable - loss of income about £50k per game - might as well pay the rent. Reduces income and effects the wage cap.

just a thought but to break the current lease (which you would need to do or end up paying for 2 grounds) wouldnt CCFC have to go bust first? In which case (a) geography becomes less of a problem for us and FA/FL (b) we would drop down at least 2 divisions as New Co (c) the size of the stadium and build costs would be much smaller ???? of course income sources would be much smaller too etc etc

It doesnt make sense

Just thoughts:thinking about:

Fully agree OSB, also were would they stand with the fair play rules because their income would drop like a stone

13.7.6 would enhance the reputation of The League and promote the game of association football generally.

This one it's self would be enough to stop it ever happening. Can see the head lines SKY BLUES DO RUNNER OWING 1.5MIL IN UNPAID RENT TO A NOT FOR PROFIT CHARITY. That's really going to make football look good is it?

I've been a season ticket holder for 2 years, a fan since the day i was born and no matter what happens this season, promotion or not, i want another season ticket for next season. But i'm 17 years old, only been going to game son my own for 3 years and i havent got a car yet, so im not gonna be able to get all the way over to Nene Park, and i dare say a lot of other fans will not be able to get over there and a lot of fans cant be arsed to make the effort to get over there, so it isnt a viable solution IMO

I don't think SISU would be too concerned about your situation.

If the knew they could fill it without. If they genuinely believed it would destroy ACL or get them back into the Ricoh with a share.
I think they would go for it.
Just my opinion.
This will be the sort if scenario where those who say it is good for the club that SISU are rough less would then be out raged.

This isn't happening. I know this and so do you. Why are you pretending it might?
