Let's see now:

Regis - an 87 legend

Dublin - refused to don our colours to force a move to Villa

Tough one to call .... not

They both went to villa. One scored goals for fun the other managed less than 10 in his first 2 years. What an immature and moronic post.

Haven't read this thread but the answer is DION every time. By a mile. 72 in about 170 games vs 62 in 281. No contest.

Dion, one of the players who transformed the squad at the time. One of the best players city has ever had in my opinion

Immature and moronic? Probably accurate in the real world, however football (or more accurately CCFC) has been my escapism for thirty odd years and, like many others, provokes a sense of tribalism in me.

Observing the latest Sky Blue generation of late, slagging of MR for the nature of his departure, brought back memories of the Dublin departure. At that particular time we had a strong side with realistic hope of glory; Dublin had near legend status at HR and his career was on the up. As a club we'd gambled a substancial fee for a reserve united player who'd suffered serious injury so a little respect for the club and fans would not have been unreasonable. The manner of his exit couldn't have been worse if he'd pissed on The West End.

The nature of his exit showed us no respect and he was, quite rightly, hammered at the time. In my time the only similar reaction to an ex-player came when Bellamy slagged us off. Whether moronic, or reasonable, I can't the sight of either of these pair.

Regis, however, will forever live as a CCFC legend for his role in our greatest success story. His departure was made with integrity and that is why he has always returned to a true Sky Blue welcome.
