See he is playing for the City under 21's today.

Will this mean he'll be finally back to full fitness soon?

Has he ever been at Full Fitness Otis because I must have missed it if he had been!

Well ..... the thing is about him, pretty much everytime he comes back into the first team he seems overweight and really ring rusty.

Sometimes takes him 6-7 games to get back into match fitness.

Can we afford that?

Maybe an option off the bench perhaps.

its bell or baker, baker or bell - not a lot to choose for me. Both will have 1 good game in 5 when fit
both ineffective for the remainder

baker tries harder , bell has more natural ability

i actually think a fit bell would do well in this team but therein lies the problem - "fit"

I think Bakers game would improve knowing he had competition for the right wing berth??? Cos he ain't got none and his form tells you that!

Why is everyone laying into Baker all of a sudden. Ever heard the term "Form is temporary"

Stand out player of the season so far and that has to be undisputed.

I don't think there would be competition if Bell was back to full fitness. I'd stick Bell on the right and Baker behind the front 2/1.

2 bad games doesn't mean he needs back up. He had 25 good games before that with nobody breathing down his neck for a place

Bell..............our season saviour, nah he'll be crocked and sitting on his arse again by the middle of March. Surely the only reason they haven't cancelled his contract yet is because he won't agree to it. The best he did when fit was throw 45 degree balls into the penalty area because he never had the pace to get to the bi line.

He's had more than 2 bad games, he wasn't terrible yesterday, had a few good shots, but for the last couple of weeks he's been underpar.

Definitely need to bring in Bailey, a couple of wingers, CBs (hopefully that Martin signs on a permanent if he's good), possibly a striker and sub LB in the summer.

Bel joined us over 4 years ago, CC was the manager sacked AB sacked, AT sacked, Shawsey, robbins left, Carlsey currently.

In the period that he has been with us some good players have left Westwood fox Dann Juke Keogh Henderson Norwood DMG. In years to come people will talk about their contribution will compare current players to these former players. When Bell eventually leaves - the Doncaster goal will be talked about and then if only stories, if only he could have stayed fit, if only he had some pace ...Some fans have such a high opinion based on single performances during his 5 season career with us. The above were consistent performers but I think too many of our fans were impressed with his stepovers etc ..and potential that they give him the benefit of the doubt. He is probably higher paid than anyone in the Crewe squad an utter waste of money but still gets some sympathy.

I've just heard that Bell while getting out of his car at the ground , fractured his eyelash in 5 places and will unfortunately be out for a further 8 weeks.
Bell has described the incident as "rather unlucky, and something that has never happened before", but he hopes to be back in the side two weeks before his next contract is due for renewal.

So Baker needs a back-up to make him play better? So you're saying he consciously chooses to play poorly as he knows he can't be replaced?

Bell is another O'Neil? Just checking, did O'Neil make 91 appearances for the Sky Blues?

Maybe an option off the bench perhaps.

Before his last injury he played an under 21's match for the full 90 minutes and seemed heavily involved in practicually every city attack (which they had a fair amount of I think).

He scored one and set up the 3rd as well.

I'd like to see him given a chance. Baker needs cover on the right and Bell would be perfect this that if he can live up this potential (notice the 'if' there).

It doesn't have to be conscious. People can get complacent without it being a knowing thing.

(not saying this is the case with Baker, he's played very well while Bell has been crocked too)

Bell should go on loan to Gillingham for a month. He can regain instant popularity and the fact he is mediocre will be swiftly forgotten.

We all know Mc Donald is mediocre, if thats what your implying, but as you point out many many times we are a very mediocre side,so he should fit in very well.
What else can we do, but get him back playing,we have no other option this season but do as best we can, with the mediocre bunch of league 1 standard players we have.

Many people on the thread credited to him state he is a good player who will score goals at this level.

He is nearing 27 and has scored 10 in 59 games above league two. He clearly has fitness issues and clearly lacks ability and aptitude.

Bell has a mediocre career record but its premier league if you are comparing to McDonald. Extract Gillingham and its a disaster.
