More loans needed? (5 Viewers)

Richard Wood and Blair Adams are out for a lengthy period and Stephen Elliott could be put for the season, so do we need more loan signings? I think another striker and a short term loan for a second left back. Dicko almost went off last night and if he lost him, we'd be in trouble. Central Defence seems to be sorted now that Martin is here, Edje can do the job and Cameron had a good game last night and MIGHT be a sign of things to come from him, but IMO, a new striker is needed for certain. Any suggestions?

better be quick ............. embargo looming

Earnshaw would be great, but wages would be an issue and i dont think Cardiff would pay any portion of it. And you're right OldSkyBlue, this sort of situation always ends up with an embargo, so Carsey better get moving

TSBL -

It was nearly done with Earnshaw appare try, we nearly had him on a free. He was a guest at two Cov games but we couldn't negotiate terms with him, he wanted too much money. Shame, he'd do a job here.

could loans be beneficial? sure

but are they needed? im not so sure

we still have cody, clarke and philliskirk upfront, if we play 451 thats fine

if we are gonna try to tweak 442 then yeh a loan striker could help

I dont think we will play Phillly til next season season. I'd like to see a young PL striker come in on loan. Like Nimely, but with goals

In theory embargo starts Friday because the accounts have to be filed by midnight Thursday............ so he better be very quick!

With mcdonald back and ball I dont think a striker is the main priority. We need a better option on the left wing who provides a threat.

Just try and extend the Dickinson loan until the end of the season. The re-call of Cody MacDonald and the return of a fit (don't laugh) David Bell are like 2 signings, then we have the new centre half Martin from Southampton, plus Danny Philliskirk and Callum Ball so we are reasonably covered. If i could get in a pacey left sided forward that'd be where i would look to do something. Regards wages, we have three ex management salaries going spare so there should be something about.

Maybe the club should ask the council for a £14m loan on low interest?

Need a striker and a Cb who could also cover at Left Back, but no point unless they are better than what we have.

Most loans at this stage of the season will be either young kids who are not ready yet or established players available because they are out of form or unfit.

This is what Birmingham did last season when they knew they weren't going to file their accounts. Think they sorted 3 or 4 last min loans.

We were in the same position and sorted...oh, relegation.

Def need a striker as back-up in case Leon gets crocked...

So Robins leaves with his team & suddenly we start picking up masses of injuries.

Put a note in the lessons learned book please Mr Waggott.

I wouldn't say so, we'll just have to play 1 striker and have Cody on the bench, Wilson and Philliskirk as reservists, no need to waste resources, we have a proven goalscorer, Clarke.

Yea but if Clarke gets injured we're fecked

I don't think he'll get injured before the end of the season (watch him break a leg v Swindon!) and if we were to bring in a loan, I doubt anyone would like us to loan a player if he's going to sit on our bench, and, I don't think Cody would be happy if we brought in a loan to oust him from the bench (if we play 4-4-2), or keep him on the bench (if we play 4-4-2). We got Cody to try out as a lone striker, may as well in an emergency.

Even with Elliott, if Clarke got injured, we'd be fucked.

I forgot to say. The Martin signing was hush hush until it had been done, like under Robins. Would that be Carsley or Waggott?

Probably right. I'd quite like it to be Carsley though, would just show a bit of continuity I think. Hasn't done bad so far either (4 games in charge, 3 won isn't it).
