Sounded to me like we were playing hoofball to a loan striker. Not being there I wouldn't know what the game was like,
But Roy Barry said we were clearly second best in every department. When asked if he saw us scoring a second goal, he said simply...No!

We had 4 shots all game. Couldn't string two passes together and played most of the game on the back foot and in our own half. We barely got out of our own half at times. Swindon were encamped past the half way line.

Yep - Swindon are by far the best team I've seen at the ricoh this season.

We are an average League One side in my opinion.

I honestly believe MR performed miracles with a side full of misfits.

Where is everybody laughing at you now Otis?

The amount of people on this board who are premature I fear for their lovelifes.

im honestly not even sure how much of it was MR.. sorry thats maybe a bit unfair - yes he had the team passing it around better but MR came in as mcgolrdick hit form, and its a lot easier to pass it around well when youve got a striker scoring goals for fun & the away teams are concentrating so much effort on him. plus mcgolrdick had the team geling with his direction

we did lose our way a little between mcgoldrick going & MR leaving

My 'improbable but not impossible' aspiration on an earlier post now looks optimistic:pointlaugh:.....and I think Mr Carsley better re think his " best players.. best team" statement of earlier this week.
We were crap today.

Decent Manager by Monday and we have the very slightest of chances, other than that we blew, not just in this match but in all the games we have dropped points (31 to date) from a point winning position.

Lots of opinions that swing either way based on the latest result!

For goodness sake get a grip.

Yes of course we can make the playoffs. Looking at what fixtures are up and coming we still have a very good chance with 10 games to go yet!

The problem is not having a settled man in charge (not SISU's fault though is it?) and whether some players need a rest? Well we now have a fit Bell, have brought in a couple new players and we can freshen it up a bit easily.

Must be said though Swindon don't get much chance to freshen it up with a squad of 15 players that must also play week in week out.
No excuses if we want it bad enough we can make it still. It's one defeat to a top side, last week we beat a top side so settle down everyone.
Had we drawn both games we would be reasonably happy. Kick on over the next few fixtures and get 12 oints chalked up and the picture will look very rosey indeed.

Just wish we would play in the Brazil kit at home. That insipid Sky Blue is doing my head in and all that goes with it from the past. It drains the inspiration from me. ;)

Our only chance is slim to none.

5 wins out of 18 home games!

Play-offs here we come! :claping hands:

To be honest Paxman I struggle to take your predictions seriously...comfortably top 6 by Xmas, go unbeaten for the last 15-16 games of the season....

But for all the years I've known you post on here, and on GMK before that, you've predicted play-offs at least just about every time.

Could you maybe stop doing that now and maybe give us a chance next year?;)

I am hoping he is tongue in cheek too.

It's not one defeat against a top side, it is 4 home defeats in a row.

Nothing short of a miracle required now. Had we half decent home form, or even poorish home form I might think we had a chance, but we don't, we have abysmal home form and 31 points lost from winning positions!

I think he must be an economic forecaster with the Office for Budget Responsiblity in his day job.

Still all to play for !!! Today was a set back, which could be a harsh one, but I can see a new manager in charge for Saturday, which could give us the lift we need!!!

Never said that.

Said at the turn of the year we would be playoffs or there abouts. Believe that was right?
I said it was possible we could go on and be unbeaten, never said we would.
It's the optimism that counts. I remain an optimist. Some on here like to leap around on the fence depending on what happens each game.

If you look at the remaining fixtures we have an excellent chance of accumulating enough points to do it. It's simply a case of whether we can and they believe still. With no manager I think it amkes it harder. And another thing I said....get a manager immediately. That hasn't happened.
That was key at the time and I may be proven right on that too.

on form alone - no chance. But a 6-7 match run (a la Yoevil) and its still on - a good choice of manager could make a difference, there's a capability among players

What does that have to do with anything Otis? We are 6 points from a playoff spot. 10 games still to go. Regardless of what the home form has been it can be argued we have countered that well with 11 away wins! This league is less predictable than the Championship of the premier league. A glance at recent results prove that. Why be so down on your team? A miracle? We are only 6 behind.

Seven points behind, and not been in the top six all season.

Though would be forgiven for thinking that we weren't actually 10 points clear at the top the way people get excited as soon as we get withinn 5 points of 6th place.

Lets face it, there are many more teams better placed than us to be in the play-offs.

Miracle because ....

We are 7 points behind and historically and most likely, we will need 74 points to have any chance. That means we need 21 points from 10 games. That means 7 wins. We only have 5 away games left.

That means we need to win 2 home games too.

And with that m'lud, the prosecution rests.

Win today and I said we had a chance; as we lost, without seeing other result's, I'm going to say it's gone now. You can't win at home as rarely as we do (5 times!) and make the play-offs. And if we did, that's a 1 in 4 shot of promotion-with our shocking home form we'd probably blow it like the Crewe JPT tie.
