I may be delusional or just full of wishful thinking, but i can't see the council playing hard ball as they are if they didn't have something more going on than anyone knows, regarding another interested party. They have all of a sudden become very confident about dealing with Sisu, to the point where its sign or get out, for them to do this it's pretty strong wording. We all agree the ground needs the club and we know ACL understand this, so might be someone is in waiting, in football there always is, so now the ball is firmly in Sisu's court and maybe's Monday's meeting will shed some light.

How many more times must it be said......Sisu's only interest in CCFC is the stadium and surrounding areas. They will not be happy with anything short of that. Having got it they will be off in a flash and to hell with CCFC. Coventry City Council are well aware of this and as a result will not negotiate with them.

I am always quite curious in this theory that SISU are only interested in the stadium and surrounding area so they can quickly sell it on. Ignoring the obvious that commercial land & property is generally in recession outside of the South East, I don't know why any party interested in acquiring the stadium and surrounding land wouldn't deal with the Council now rather than wait for it to fall into SISU's hands first and incur SISU's mark up...

Well no one else is lining up to take over are they?

ACL and the Council do not wish to deal with SISU (other than to get their rent money) and the Council has catagorically stated they will not hand over half shares of the ricoh to SISU.

SISU are a lost cause. The only way we can move on as a club (in any capacity) is for SISU to leave.

Whoever takes over will have a clean slate (As far as the council is concerned) and should have an easier time discussing options on buying the stadium etc.

And I doubt SISU will be allowed to walk away from the rent issue.

I believe whoever takes over will be exempt from paying the rent arears.

ACL will go after SISU for the whole lot if I'm not mistaken.

Of course I might be wrong on that last point!

ACL don't have any contractual relationship with SISU therefore they cannot go after them. SISU owe ACL and the council sweet FA on a contractual basis. ACL only have a contract with CCFC and the CCFC companies have substantial net liabilities so ACL could make moves to wind up the club companies but it wouldn't get them very far financially at least.

ACL have proven themselves to be pretty astute business people. Therefore you have to ask why these astute business people are so reluctant to do business with Sisu. They clearly do not see them as the right people to take our club forward.

Well as I see it, your pretty much hitting the nail on the head there Chipfat!

We all know SISU specialise in buying companies who are stuck in debt but have large potential for profit. They pay off said debt and then work towards making the company viable. They then sell it on.

When they buy a company and it backfires, instead of jumping ship, they work the angles, trying to find any way they can of getting their investment to work or at least getting back the money they initially spent on the company.

If we go with this idea, it becomes clear why they've stuck with CCFC for so long. They started to make a loss right from the start. They tried to renegotiate the deal for the rent after the first 4 months of owning CCFC.

That obviously didn't work did it or we wouldn't be having these problems. It could mean that ACL and the Council didn't trust them even then! Since they've taken over, they tried everything they can to make CCFC a viable concern.

It's not worked. They've had offers from interested parties (Hoffman) but have refused because the offer they received wasn't to their liking. We know Hoffman offered them one shiney pound and the promise of taking all the debts over.

What SISU wanted (and still do) is their initial investment back, even though the club isn't worth that anymore. Then you look at their attempts to bankrupt ACL, another attempt to make some easy money and now even thats backfired.

If it had worked, i reckon they would have tried to purchase ACL themselves, therefore absorbing the company in their holdings and pretty much taking the half share in the ricoh for themselves.

If what you say is true Chipfat, then the Council have worked out SISU's plans and have frustrated them at every turn. Now they have a noose around SISU's neck and they'll continue to tighten it until SISU give in and hand the club over to them.

Then the buyers you mentioned can swoop in and take over for that mythical golden pound lol It would mean a 10 point deduction next season and possibly having to sell or let go of most of our players but it would offer us a chance to begin again!

Whether that's a good thing remains to be seen.

Don't get me wrong Pete, I agree with you.

I already suggested the Council/ACL as one of our only viable takeover options.

I would like to know who these investors are (as I'm sure would most Sky Blue Fans) and it's intriguing that no one wants to work with SISU.

They must not have very good business credentials and after this CCFC fiasco, their image is probably completely tarnished (if it wasn't before!)

So I don't blame these supposed investors (or the Council) for not wanting to deal with Shitsu!

Part of me wishes they'd get it over with. This whole situation is like a story of a soap opera!

I just want it to end now cause it's that tortuous! Shame someone can't just go and murder Joy and bury her under a congrete floor...

I agree entirely with the sentiment of your post. It would be great if they did one and we had new owners who simply threw millions into the first team so we could get promotion to the Championship and then to the Premier League. I want that more than anyone...even as a supporter from afar, I really do. And I'm totally on board with your thoughts.

However....how many individuals/parties/groups/conglomerates (?) etc are queuing up to buy us right now? NONE. Whilst we're in this situation, which is partly SISUs fault (As well as ACLs, Cov City Councils, Richardsons, McGinnitys, Keys, Hoffmans, Mine for not going as much as maybe I could've etc etc), there's no alternative.

Until an Ambromovic/Skiek Mansoor type follows Godivas hoof-steps into the city, we're 'stuck' with our current owners. I am (and always will be) thankful that we didn't go into adminstration and thank SISU for that. I have however relaxed my stance in the past 24 months as they've made mistakes and they're the reason why we are where we are.

That said, they've admitted they've made mistakes and its been known that under the new FFP rules, changes must be made. Regardless of what you think, SISU are more qualified to make decisions on this and make us viable and rule-worthy, than you or I.

I also wish for new owners. But until someone with a stupid amount of money and no common sense comes into town, we have SISU who continue to play player wages, police costs etc. Without them as it stands, the hardcore would be shopping with their other halves on a Saturday.

For the club to compete inside Fair Play rules they considered this offer still pointless. Without seeing the figures and projections, neither of us can decide was a fair offer.

Mutton & Co are trying to hold on to a revenue stream that his slowly killing the club. SISU leaving will not change that.

Yep I think that's where it is at!! And no end of posturing from Mr fisher will change acl or ccc opinion now I don't think. To be fair given time and a number of decisions and actions sisu could regain some trust but i am not sure how! Makes me more and more sick to the stomach that fans were forced to give up shares back when they took over. Oh well we all live and learn!!
