If SW leaves, it might indicate that the embargo is here to stay for the foreseeable

Fisher has said we are guaranteed to be under embargo irrespective of the outcome of the rent boycott.

Someone asked a great question about the 65% average FFP and how we're going to rectify it for next season.

Waggot thought it was a great question and said that they'll be offloading our high earners at the end of the season and bringing in cheaper alternatives.

So the likes of McSheffrey & Wood will probably be shown the door as their contracts are up in July and they're two of our highest earners at the club.

Can you think of anyone else who might be asked to leave?

David Bell is contracted to us till 2015 so I can see him staying.

If he can stay fit and avoid injury I think he'll be a great asset for us next season!

I know a lot of people don't rate him because of the injuries and such.

But give the lad a chance. He's just come back from a shitty year and wants to do good for the club and play football.

Just hear it every season about him being an asset if he can come back fit and free from injury, it never happens though.

Steve Waggott at the Trust Meeting

Coventry City Development Officer Steve Waggott has said not to put any money on the list of names being given by the BBC.

Speaking at the Sky Blue Trust Meeting at The Squirrel tonight, Mr Waggott, who described himself as Joy Seppala's football advisor said "Don't put your money on the candidates mentioned by the BBC today" and added that his search hasn't excluded any managers currently at a club and that the four will be down to two in the next couple of days.

Mr Waggott admitted that City should have spent the extra £150k to have kept Marlon King and retained their place in the Championship and for the sake of 2, 3 or 400,000 it would of been better spending that than losing millions getting relegated.

When asked what the plan is for next season with regards bringing the salaries under 65% of the revenues. Mr Waggott said; "Offloading those that are higher earners, bringing in cheaper options and that players are cheaper now than they were. If we say no to the demands of a player's Agent, how many other clubs will say the same as us?

The question of how will our Financial Fair Play salary cap compares to others in League One? With one of the larger gates but without other revenues, where do we lie. The reply was that City are around 6th-10th.
Speaking about the academy, he said the the academy is very important to this club. It's sad that some clubs are scrapping their COE/academy and It's a shame when any club aren't giving their local lads a chance to play for their local club.

He also said that the players are professional footballers that are paid a lot of money and they should be able to concentrate on other things, rather than worry about what is happening off the field with the club.

@CJ_covblaze is a member of the Sky Blue Trust Board and did a brilliant job tweeting last night. Report of the meeting has already been posted on skybluetrust.co.uk. It was a great meeting and a lot of the stuff SW said was really interesting eg how brutal the world of football is these days. He talked very openly about football matters, answered every question, no spin, not patronising. Good stuff

I for one had a natural distrust for Wag due to his association with TF and his role in the sacking of Thirn after 3 games.

I now have greater respect for him.

Joy needs to do the same.

For as much as I hated King(The man, not player) Proof that SISU were again at fault in that debacle about "Trying to keep him at Cov."

This is what is so dumb!

I remember very well saying when people said we had no money, that it was much wiser to find the money and spend a bit on quality players than do nothing, as the cost of relegation would hurt the club so much more.

It was common sense. I, and a few like me, said the Christmas before last that we would be relegated. All the signs were there. The club did nothing though and just allowed that demise to happen.

It was clear that the manager was a novice and that the squad was too small. The result of the ineptitude in not reacting has been that we have been relegated and that it has cost the club millions as a result.

Daft doesn't begin to describe it.

I know, it's just even they admit. They caused the relegation.

Then they let a bloke who they know didn't cause it sign a new team.

Then they sack him after 3 games.

Then it takes 5 defeats before the ship is steadied.

Will this be the thing they refer to next season as their mistake from this season.

These mistakes are massive everyone seems to see them apart from SISU.

Sell your top striker when you are in the bottom three you will get relegated.

Don't sign Marlon Etc..... We will be a worse off team.

If you don't trust the manager don't let him sign a new squad.

If you let him do that don't sack him after 180 minutes if football

Have your replacement pretty much ready if you do.

When you sign a new manager makes sure he can't leave till the end if the season.

As chairman don't sit on the Bench.

Don't try to blackmail your main business partners that you have to do a deal with to survive.

Releasing press stories about ground sharing with Hinkley harms the image of the club and creates instability.

As does releasing statements about insolvency.

The best wont come or stay if they do come.

Transfer embargo's creat a bad image and mean players will not wait and will choose other options

It is a quite obvious stuff surely?

Clearly from your first 3 sentences nothing is very obvious to you.

What is of course missing from your analysis is the apathy of last year extended to retain thorn beyond October.

Waggot himself should fall on his sword along with fisher for allowing the same to happen again. They allowed a man who is not in anyway a football manager to recruit 9 players all of whom have been largely unfit for purpose and a waste of wages.

The season was doomed before a ball was kicked.

As for king he would have gone anyway. He only joined Coventry die to boothroyd and if anytime seriously thinks he would have chosen useless thorn over MacLeish and Birmingham they are seriously deluded

It's impossible to keep a manager or a player if they want to leave.

However for the continued employment of thorn one whoever sanctioned that should offer serious explanations or leave as we would be much better off now and have a better squad.

Not so sure about the 'few' comment. Most in-tune supporters knew that our Championship survival depended on keeping King. Are we so sure that SISU and the management thought differently but that King, aware that he was certain to be carrying a struggling side, wanted to be off anyway?

I thought the season was doomed before a ball was kicked due to the way that our squad had been torn to pieces. 2 teenagers made their debuts 1st league game of the season; that told me all I needed to know. It was a relegation budget, all but guaranteeing relegation.

Yes, it IS obvious.
After reading that (all of these issues were flagged up at the time) you'd have to be strange to support sisu.
Similarly, we have just lost our manager at the business end of the season and STILL haven't replaced him.
Absurd and contradictory doesn't begin to describe the inadequacy of sisu.
