Turned down us in favour of York City, according to the York press.

:(:(:(:(

Our reputation goes before us.

Well yeah, there is that side of it.

Sums things up a bit though for a manager to turn us down in favour of a League Two club that are in a relegation dogfight doesn't it.

Thank God for that. Hasn't managed a club for seven years or something.

Happy to see his ship sail past, but the worry is that other managers (good managers) are giving us a wide berth and limiting our pool of available managers to choose from.

Thats why we should leave it until the end of the season.

Simply isn't true. Quite widely publicised that interviews are taking place this week. What may have happened is he withdrew his application for CCFC job in favour of York, probably knowing he was a long shot at best.

Ahhhh that air of common sense. Instead of doom, doom, doom, we suck, doom, doom, doom.

Wouldn't the York press say that kind of thing to talk up the new York manager, in the same way that Cody McDonald was reported as our number one transfer target?

By the same token, it could quite easily have been that we approached him and he turned us down.

Who knows. All speculation and I am only reporting what the press up there have said.

We may have asked him if he was interested in an interview but I doubt we offered him the job

How did he 'turn us down' exactly? Neve even heard of a rumour of us even being interested in him, let alone offering him the job. He's even sh*tter than Curle.

He would have been as much my number one choice as Cody was our number one target over ALF ;)

He may well have been a target but our chances of getting him were very slim indeed. Why some think he would have even considered coming here when we bidding for him against Mcdermott & Reading.

Despite reports that former Northern Ireland manager Nigel Worthington turned down Coventry City to take over at York City, the Telegraph understands he wasn't a candidate for the job.
Worthington has taken charge of the League Two club following the dismissal of his predecessor Gary Mills at the weekend.

York newspaper The Press reports
ed: "It is believed he was approached to take over at troubled League One outfit Coventry City but found the Minstermen a more attractive proposition due to their financial clean bill of health."

Worthington said: “I’ve had a few offers from clubs in higher divisions during the last 12 months but they did not feel right for me."
However, the Telegraph understands the former Sheffield Wednesday defender was never in the running for the vacant Sky Blues post.

Newspaper gossip as suggested by a few on here.

Move along, nothing to see here.

Could very well have been true. I remember years ago that we chose Peter Billing over David Platt or something equally ridiculous.

He would have been as much my number one choice as Cody was our number one target over ALF ;)
