Think the SPL being a one horse race says all we need to know about Scottish football.

How Scottish football fans can criticise the English leagues is beyond me

Trolling or just haven't looked at the premiership table recently?

was a actually going to wish you guys good luck but seen as your an arrogant prick i will get straight in about you's. let me tell you something, english football at prem level and championship level is up there with the best and above our standard by quite a long shot, all because of money of course. however the level you guys are at is no better and is probably WORSE than the football we play considering enoch showumni scored 11 goals in one season down there, he couldnt get 11 shots on target up here. your not a big club any more so see your snide comments about our game you can take them and jam them up your jacksie. pressley is going to need a lot of luck with the likes of you around

Roll on devolution......

What is your opinion of Pressley?

He's very good at bringing through the youth if he gets the chance.
He, amazingly for a defender can spot a forward better than a centre back, ie Taylor and Farid .
He has worked under terrible conditions at Falkirk with budget cuts and constantly having top players sold, and yet we have been to 2 national semi finals in 2 seasons.
If we had been allowed to keep a team for a while he would be in with a shout of winning the league, but our chairman keeps punting because we are poor.

I watched Fulham v Stoke the other week, it was no beauty.
Any team can play passing football it isn't rocket science.... But us cov fans are more concerned for the step up and the fact he isn't proven in ANY English football, just Scottish football which in my opinion isn't anywhere near as good as English football

How do ou think he'd get on at CCFC, one of the 'bigger' teams both in stature and financially in our league? We also have some good youngsters coming through who the old manager largely ignored.

Thanks for the info you've given.

It isn't.
Funny how though when talking about the premiership people go on about the big teams and massive fixtures. They don't mention Wigan v QPR, Fulham v Norwich, Sunderland v Reading or Stoke v anyone.
Anyone who thinks these games are premium football is deluded.

They may make sense then, we are about to become very dependant on our academy

Looks like wag does have a plan
He was saying at the forum with the FFP we are going to have to heavily rely on the academy.

Our friend from Falkirk has pointed out that SP is very good at bringing youth team players in as all his squad keep getting sold.

Looks like next season will be the season for the academy.

It is a shame this season a lot if them didn't get a sniff so they would be more prepared.

How often is there a 15 point gap between the team at the top of the premiership though? Not very often.

How often are Rangers and Celtic that far apart?
We have 2 massive teams up here who you lot won't take off our hands no matter how much we beg.
The premiership has 7 big teams and the rest make up the numbers.
Up until recently you had 4 massive teams controlling everything.

Fair point. La Liga is little different to the SPL in terms of competitiveness.

This would make perfect sense to Sisu to hire a manager working under similar conditions now than what he will be expected to next year. Is it the right one for fans not really as its highlights expectations of where they want us to be as a club if we hire him,,a player factory with no ambition to move forward. Just my opinion and one i hope SP doesnt share, im just very uneasy with our current owners and the situation we find ourselves in.

So next season will be like last season - using all the kids? Oh Christ

Only Wood's contract is up. It will take a lot of effort to get rid of players in the squad. There will be little demand for any of them.

I love Scottish football me. Used to go a lot with my mate in the late 80s and 90s. Raith Rovers was "our" team but we went to Falkirk (was at their last game at their old stadium, I seem to remember - late 90s?), Cowdenbeath, Albion Rovers, Arbroath, QOS and loads of other teams - all lower league, we never saw any SPL rubbish. We used to go to QOS a lot as it was the nearest. Worst journey was going to Arbroath. Left at 3am Saturday, saw the game and got back at 3am Sunday morning. Brilliant!

I remember being inEdinburgh on holiday with me mom and dad and my Dad wanted to go to Hibs, but I wouldn't go and we went to see Meadowbank Thistle in their massive open stadium - can't remember what it was called but it was used in the Commonwealth games. It was awful, massive running track around the pitch and about 300 people there.

When we went to Arbroath the "toilet" was a piece of corrugated iron cemented into the ground which you pissed against.

Great times.

Top stuff Torch. Hibs are my team-and they may as well be given the players we've sent there!
