As supporters we should want what is best for the football club, and that is a fair amount of rent to be paid, as well as all revenue generated by our fans. Any other investor looking to buy the club would want the same. It doesn't make sense for people to support the club being denied these and being anti-sisu. The club would look much more attractive to a buyer if we were to get these. I am sure sisu would love to get out, but until they can make the club more attractive to a buyer then that is not going to happen and it will prolong their stay.

The simple answer is because the club sold those rights when they sold their half of ACL for £6.5m - they could always buy back those rights?

What has it been wasted on? How many other owner's of football club have poured money into a club and seen no return on it. Poor decisions, including hiring Ray Ranson to run the club have proved a disaster, as well poor choices of managers including Coleman (who spent a lot of money in comparison to recent managers) & Andy Thorn. I am convinced if we had got in Robins last season we would have stayed up. It is only since Waggot has been here we have finally looked to become more astute in who we chose to manage the club.

The mentality of some is completely twisted, it's almost as if they think ACL are doing the football club a favour. You think this is a good deal? Even if you accept the figures you quote, it still represents a net contribution of 150K per year for a 3rd division football club.
The arrogance of ACL is astounding when you consider the extent to which their business benefits from the football club. The Ricoh naming rights deal would have been worthless without the football club, and yet ACL have benefitted from that to the tune of millions, not to mention the compass catering deal, years of excessive rent charges, parking revenues and increased leverage when negotiating deals with the hotel and casino operators.
ACL have been riding the gravy train for years, to the point where the football clubs has been crippled, and yet they have the audacity to then try and play the victim and make legal moves against the club. It is sickening, and the fact there are so many people willing to apologise for their stance is truly shocking.

Just like when they banned any more strip clubs being opened in Coventry because they thought it was immoral.

I would say taking a mid table championship club, investing £45m into it, and the end result that club being a mid table league 1 club is a disaster by anyones standards.
You could have put an ordinary person off the street at the helm over the last few years and they wouldn't have done as much damage as these clowns.

How were we a mid table Championship club when they came in? We had already had our flirts with relegation since we had been in the Championship. We finished 8th in one season under Adams, but we were hardly an established mid-table club. We were already on a slow decline.
I agree though, the decision to employ Ranson and Coleman was a disaster.

I agree but Sisu have made such a pigs ear of negotiations and made howling tactical errors that have left them to be alienated by the only people that can give them or sell them what they need !!!
The only hope is for Sisu to sell on to someone that ACL, Counsel and Higgs can trust to be able to negotiate the revenues the club needs.

Hold on a minute, how well have the council ran Coventry, the place if falling to ruin. They even turned away the radio 1 big weekend they are idiots. The town centre is a shithole, hardly any jobs business rates through the roof. I see the councillors were swanning off on a joly to Brazil recently to explore "twin cities" what a waste of money that is.

I haven't seen many people on here slating Ranson too much, a lot of the anti-sisu mob still revere him for some strange reason.

I thought £20M was to buy the Higgs 1/2 share of the stadium, which the club sold to them for £6.5M some years ago (Mind you I'm not sure where that figure comes from as I thought the Higgs/SISU negotiations were not public, this article in the CET states the figure is 'rumoured to be £10M' http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/ne...city-ricoh-arena-stadium-deal-92746-31880394/).
Anyway they are being given back the part of F&B that ACL has access to in the deal explained by Ashbyjan, the rest is tied up in a long term contract with Compass. Are you saying ACL should break that contract?

I also guarantee that any sensible new owners would show some humility and accept the club has no one to blame but itself for its current position.
They would ASK for help rather than make demands for money that is not leagally theirs.

Whos to say they wont be like this with whatever owners we have. They will probably refuse to work with anyone unless its mother teresa.
Regarding the strip clubs it just shows they are poking their pointy little noses in in people business. Some bit of skirt on the council probably got on her high horse saying women are being exploited blah blah blah.

No I don't, the club was in a mess, but the facts are the team were sat in mid table.
They then went on a bit of a bad run, Ranson (part of Sisu) decided to sack Dowie and get Coleman in.
