Well back in 1994 I thought Pressley was 'outstanding' for the sky blues ,that was until the ball came near him!!!
The Scottish league is a bigger joke than their national team if that's possible
I seem to remember when Stevie boy was 1st mentioned as gonnae be your boss, a few fans saying he wasn't good enough because he came from a poor level.
Seems to me he's made a step down not up in the world.
He's fair making your level seem easy.
For the OP, he does like the word outstanding, I understand he tells his wife that dinner and sex were outstanding regularly.
Too much Mr Nice Guy from what I've heard from him. Too early to judge him so jury's still out IMO.
It's a case of which is worse, pish or shite?
Hopefully puts them on the wrong feet.Speaking of which I'm looking forward to the semi-final coming up; unless Griffiths has his shooting boots on anyway.
Hopefully puts them on the wrong feet.
He's only been here 10 days, but has already entered the Guinness Book of World Records for the amount of times he has used the word 'outstanding!'
Seems with him every performance from any player is 'outstanding' 'magnificent' or brilliant.'
We were poor today but every player Geoff Foster asked him about either put in an 'outstanding' 'magnificent' or 'brilliant' performance.'
I think he is a bit of a superlative lover
As I say Torch, not trying to knock the guy.
Guess we are just not used to so many superlatives.
The only way the manager can go from here is to 'extra brilliant' '500% outstanding' and 'even more terrific.'
Besides, if he is trying to build confidence up for better performances it cleary hasn't worked. We were poor against Colchester and hardly any better against Hartlepool.
SP keeps saying Sheff is outstanding yet his performances get worse and worse. Maybe he'd be better off saying he's playing like a bag of wank.
We might get a MOTM performance out of Sheff then! :claping hands:
shut up otis
we have won 2 and drawn 1 of the 3 hes been in charge
hartlepool didnt have a shot on target and we could have won by 3 yet you label us as poor
rob9872;397248. said:A well oiled pr machine that is SISU, will probably give him some help in this regard.
Good grief. If SISU's publicity people are writing his scripts, he's got no chance!
We were poor.
Hartlepool were just all the more dreadful.
think you will find you can play poorly and win a football match. We were much better than Hartlepool but you can't hold that up as any sort of beacon.
If we weren't poor then why wasn't that reflected in people's ratings post match?
The ratings of most supporters on here of the City team were quite low!
because they are the same fans that boo at a pass that goes sideways or backwards
only ratings that matter are from intelligent fans like myself.
hartlepool have been a form team, yes they looked bad but howm uch of that was down to our better focus on pressing?
we will know better after pompey game but to label us poor in a game we restrict other team to no shots on goal is just crazy
Even though they didn't score a single goal in any of their 3 previous matches either? That's 360 minutes now without a goal.
Was listening to CWR pre-game and the Hartlepool commentator was saying they really struggle to score and it's been a real problem for them. They really struggle to create chances anyway.
Common problem for them all season long.

Didn't you say that Santos who played for Arsenal was a top class player or was that someone else?
no i said he wasnt an "average" player
the guy i was debating with also said murphy had an amazing game in the 6-1 loss so i felt i came out alright with that one
too much sensationalism goes on imo, there are prob some english fans out there who think robinho is crap because of his average stint with manchester city, but the guy did well before and after at madrid and ac milan,i just dont like to write off players so quick
santos was good at fenarbache and internationally with brazil, i liked what i saw of him early on at arsenal, sure he dipped and ended on poor form but seeing cov fans target him as if we wouldnt even want him just made me cringe
he was below average by premier league standards. Of course he'd get in our team, we are in the third tier of English football. I saw Santos before he went to Arsenal I thought he couldn't defend then and that was proven in his stint at Arsenal.
santos may not have been top 4 quality but he was premier league level.
he was an attacking FB, wenger must have knownw hat he was buying him for, not all full backs have to play the same way
its like robinho again " he doesnt track back", to that i say...so?
I'm not disagreeing about Robinho, he is a good player. I personally think that most premier league teams (with the exception of one or two) have a better left back than Santos. Evra- better, Clichy/Kolarov- both better, Assou-Ekotto- better, Monreal/Gibbs- better, Cole- better, Baines- better, Enrique- better, Santon- better, Luke Shaw- better, Rangel- better, Ridgewell- slightly better. I simply going on having proved it in the premier league. Santos may have played for Brazil but for me Brazil have had some poor defenders represent them over the years. Luckily for them their attacking flair means that they can cover this problem.
yeh only a few names there i would disagree with tbh
but brazil like their defenders to be able to attack, attack is best form of defence sometimes, thats how santos was schooled, he might have been great fit for england i just didnt think he deserved such ridicule before our game
the guy i debated with noted bakers cross came from santos side and showed how shit he was...6-1 we lost...6-1.
back to hpool game im not saying we were brilliant, not even clsoe, but we were not poor imo
