The Greek fella, the Indian fella, the Manhattan crew, the hoff, now this one. Believe it when it happens and no guarantee that better than sisu - remember the excitement last time?

Hope its true and works out but I'm sceptical of another foreign investment who only wants it on the cheap. Strike a deal now and save 10 points if genuine. Bing sisu an extra million that you'll recoup by being a league higher .... rinse and repeat and when acl dont get their pot of gold you can all moan at thus lot once the honeymoon period is over.

Don't worry your Lordship we are trying to find out all the intentions of prospective owners - the blind acceptance of anyone with a couple of quid has lead us to the mess we are in today. Our abiding mission is to make sure that any new owners a: have the club at heart and are not just interested in the money they can make from the development potential of the Ricoh complex and are actually taking the club seriously and b: will realise that taking fans seriously and giving the fans a proper voice and prospect of part ownership is a good thing, something that successive failed regimes at numerous clubs, including Coventry, have failed to do and not just something to pay lip service to.

Unfortunately there aren't enough wealthy individuals interested in football clubs in this country.

In the absence of a consortium of Oggy, John Sillett and Lady Godiva taking over I'll accept a rich Texan.
It's not ideal and, let's face it, football teams always seem to fail in the long run, so I ready to enjoy the immediate benefits and see what happens.

That is of course assuming this is true and not that the Daily Mail have heard a bit of local gossip about Joe Elliott and some yanks and then had a think and thought "who was that yank who wanted to buy Leeds, that Preston 4 bloke, yep, that's him, that'll do, we have a story". Must be true.

Rob - I don't think its as simple as trying to get it on the cheap - SISU have consistently refused to sell (heavens knows why) but by being in administration they are no longer in full control, the administrator is. He/she will decide if a bid is acceptable and will then put together a CVA which is put to the creditors for acceptance. Presently SISU via their ARVO vehicle have the clout to simply keep rejecting these proposals but the administrator can if he feels there are exceptional circumstances force through a sale by the formation of a new company. This was done by Brendan Gilfoyle at Leeds - now what was the name of the ACL's preferred administrator? Coincidence? Maybe maybe not?

And that would mean another 15 pt penalty. Are the Trust supporting that?

I think this bit in the Cov Telegraph story might have more relevance given what's been said about delevoping the area.

Haskell IV moved to Moscow in 1992 to start the Haskell International Group, which began with real estate investment and property management but also operates restaurants and manufactures furniture.

It really doesn't matter. He will install a board with Elliott and Hoffman who have vast experience in running a football club.

I've heard it all before with Chinese billionaires, Hoffman, manhattan, Dinsa, etc etc.

This guy looked to buy Leeds but .. Err... Didn't.

There are bound to be people looking but that doesn't mean ultimately that they'll buy.

There are plenty of people who go into a car showroom but don't come out with a car.

Of course we are not supporting any points deduction - ideally any takeover would be done amicably, professionally and without having to be forced through in this fashion. Maybe if SISU see the writing on the wall and conclude that this outcome looks probable then maybe they will decide that the best thing for them financially and for the club and its fans would be to take an offer now before any admin occurs. That would be a win-win situation for them, the club, the fans and ACL (always assuming any new owners are better than past ones - a big if obviously)

He's a minority shareholder in the Jacksonville Jaguars, a team who are perennial under achievers & in fact worse than the eternally awful Cleveland Browns who until recently were owned by Villa owner Randy Lerner.

Its his father who is a share holder in the Jags

This may sound short-sighted... Well, it IS short sighted, but i'll take anything right now. Just want this SISU / ACL nightmare to be over! If a rich Texan wants to buy us out, and purchase the stadium to develop the business / Football Club (whatever it counts as in these sad times) as a whole then I will gladly change my name to Bubba T. Flubba, wear a sky blue stetson to all City matches and listen soley to Lynryd Skynrd for the rest of my waking life.

SWEET HOME COVENTRY!
COME ON YOU REDNECK SKY BLUES!
SISU'S GONE, GONE WITH THE WIND!

.....Then again, if it did come off, i'm sure we'd all be organising 'COLONEL HASKELL IV OUT' protests and researching fire safety in football stadia legislation in 2 years time....

A parting gift from SISU would be to accept an offer before administration.

How big are you ?

Exactly what I put in previous post - maybe all these pre court leaks are just to give SISU the option to bow out gracefully, with more cash than a forced admin sale would bring, give us new (hopefully better) owners and ACL a partner they can work with. Win-win-win

For Sisu the whole Coventry saga has been a complete media nightmare for them. Sisu have received bad publicity over the years which must be damaging a messed up investors money on this project.

If Sisu are offered a way out the best thing for them is to exit quietly and recoup what is offered on the table.

If they mess about too much on a sell out then that will be further and the final reminder of Sisu.

Will be interesting to see how this pans out.

If someone had any financial sense and knew how to invest wisely they would not put money into Coventry City Football Club

It would appear the principal activity of the SISU apologists this morning is frantically Googling a chap they'd never heard of before breakfast, to latterly convince themselves, then others, that he's a wanker. It could have been Mother Theresa of Calcutta, back from the dead with a winning lottery-ticlet and there'd still be a problem

Well, Mother Theresa was a bit of a c**t, so wouldn't wish her on us.

Seems the same who slavishly loved Sisu with no questions at all for years are preparing to do the same with anybody else.

Especially if it has the seal of quality that is Teflon Joe attached to it.
