Just thought we ought to congratulate Cov City ladies on getting promoted to the premier division.

Back to back promotions and a bit of success for Coventry:claping hands:

Well done!

Can't be any more lightweight in the tackle than Baker or Sheffers

Does this mean that they become proffesional players now?

No, this is only for the teams in the Super League. The best of the top flight and invited teams only. (Lincoln Ladies) held during this summer for the first time!! Although Birmingham ladies are running away with it at present!
big things happening in the ladies game this year. WE have the ladies FA cup final at the Ricoh this year also.

I know it's sexist and also that any success is good for the area/club, but unless my daughter ever grows up to play for them to give me personal involvement, I am completely underwhelmed by it all. In fact it's so hollow for me that we could become Ladies World Club Champions for the next 20 consecutive years and it would still mean absolutely nothing to me. Sorry, but it's how I feel.

So cov bees cov blaze and cov jets all have to have members of your family in for you to be proud?
Bit sad that Rob, i look at all coventry sport and love it when we win at anything!!!

I used to go up the bees when I was a kid, but no affinity with any of them really as they don't stick around for years (not always their fault, but rule changes) and I have no interest at all in Ice Hockey for teh blades or whatever the Jets do. I'm pleased to see they do well and I'm pleased for the ladies, but that's it. Tell me smiley, were you jumping out of your chair and fist pumping like you might if City score or did you quietly think "that's nice"? I suspect we all know.

My point was not that it requires my family, but that I would feel different if tehre was personal involvement as I find it hard to get excited about any women's sport (apart from beach volleyball of course).

31 players in that squad, no wonder we can't afford any decent first team players.

Congrats to them for winning promotion.

Amazed you would admit to such a bigoted view in public.

I bet you don't like female coppers, doctors, etc. Bit caveman...lil woman in the kitchen and the bedroom only? Ever thought of joining the 21st century? Perhaps the Taliban would welcome your view.:D

Well done CCFC "Ladies"! I salute all teams representing the City of my birth!:claping hands:

Right, so because he doesn't care what the ladies team does he's now an extremist?! I like football and cricket but I don't watch women in either. It's not because I'm part of Al Quaeda it's because I have not been brought up watching it and therefore don't really have much interest in it. I don't criticise what they do - and well done to Cov ladies for back to back promotions - and I won't begrudge any body else wanting to watch it or keeping an eye out for the results. So am I also a bigot because I don't have much interest?

Thanks oakey. You keep pretending you care and I'll keep my views honest

couldn't agree with Rob and KG more, well done to them but I don't genuinely care because I'm not into womens football. Nothing against it just have no interest.

Well done ladies good luck for next season. I agree with most others here though, just not into womens sport.

Just seems unnecessary to comment at all if you are not interested. It's like saying, "Well done, but I'm not into..........."
seems rude and a put-down. Would you say the same to a paralympian who had won their event? By commenting I'm not interested in your sport you are undermining the achievement and patronising, I think. The link to the Taliban is in jest but you are moving in that direction.:D

So now we're not allowed to comment on things in a Coventry City forum! Sorry, what are those places called that don't allow freedom of speech?! Like I said, well done to them, there's no rule against not being interested in stuff though.

May not be the pc line but if you want honesty then I watched zero of the paralympics too. Do I think they're brilliant for doing what they do despite adversity - yes of course. ~Would I pay to watch it? Absolutely not as I have no interest in it. In fact if anything saying "of all theose who are disabled - you're the best" to me seems even more of a put down. I guess I'm fortunate that I don't have to deal with disability but I can't even see the relevance of the comparison. Am I dinosaur? Probably yes, but I'm not going to like the Emperor's new clothes just because someone thinks I should.
