Having watched the three league semi final and final playoff matches, the FA Cup Final and the Champions League Final it is safe to say that the "beautiful game" of today needs very little tweaking to make it even more attractive.
But to get to where we are today has involved a number of subtle and at times major changes over the last few years and I was just wondering which of these made the most significant difference to enhance our game.
The most important changes / improvements from what I can remember (no preferential or date order) are:
* 3 points for a win
* no passing back for keeper to pickup
* 6 second rule for goalkeeper possession
* the playoffs for the three non premier leagues
* no replays in cup games penalty kicks decide after ET
* yellow / red card system
* goal difference not goal ratio in level points situations
* sky television coverage
One that got away (tried but abandoned - why???)
* 10 yard advancement for free kicks that are over contested
I may have missed one or two - any more additions or which is your favourite from the above !!!
