The Football League still has the final say... we could now make every effort to persuade them NOT to approve SISU - up to us. Is it worth the effort ?

Not if you listen to the posters on here I am going tomorrow I know there is no one there but I work in the week like most others and have a family so Saturdays it is.

If the FL allow a club's owners to take that club out of its community against their wishes, when they can still play there for free, then the FL may as well as not exist.

Dear Sirs,
Please assure me that the Football League will now honour its principles towards the community and fans and not give Coventry City's golden share back to Otium Entertainment Group Ltd.
If the FL allow a club's owners to take that club out of its community against their wishes, then the FL may as well as not exist.

Professor Beech football finance expert from Cov. Uni seemed to think the FL would okay the Administrators recomendation as the creditors have been paid in full but not 100% certain. Said sisu have to convince them of their ground sharing and new ground proposals, submit a million pound bond and some other things. Still find it hard how they can guarantee a new ground when they have yet to secure a site, get planning permission and finance the project as for the ground share the financial viability of that has to be questioned.

Let consider the FL do not allow this to happen due to the actions as suggested by the OP - Who takes the club on? Do we need to re tender/bid for the club? Would this not give in to more hold ups ect...I am not a SISU fan, just playing Devils advocate.

It's a sad time for football if a move like this can be sanctioned 'because the finances are ok.' The football club's supporters are being disregarded. When was that ok?

Does anyone know the definitive ratification criteria for FL approval? There must be a list of conditions that must be met for the FL to sanction the administrators view?

I think the FL will allow this to happen - what would the consequences be if they do not, I think they are in a corner with no other options...IMO

Each to their of course. I told them I wouldn't support their plan to take my club out of the city and I intend to follow through on my word.
You cannot disregard your customers and get away with it.
The community is the heart of any football club and football in general has disregarded that of late. Football fans need to unite and make a stand. Our situation should be highlighted in the media.

So you would have moved from Wimbledon to Milton Keynes if you had been supporting them back then? And if not then there is a line that your support would stop at. It is therefore a measure of degrees and what a lot of people are saying is that line has been breached. Surely you can understand that!

But that move to Milton Keynes was always going to be permament and it was essentially a new club that was formed - so a franchise. Unless you think the town of Walsall can sustain two league sides?
The moment it becomes apparent that it is permanent (which the league would not allow anyway) everyone would jump ship and follow a new club as was the case with AFC Wimbledon.
To be honest, I still don't think we will even play in Walsall. Strongly suspect a deal will be done to play at the Ricoh next week or shortly thereafter.

I have awoken this morning to some extremely concerning news regarding Coventry City Football Club. It seems that the 'Administrator' (whom I understand was somehow appointed by the failing incumbent owner. I fail to grasp how this can be, but am not knowledgeable enough in the machinations of insolvency law to be able to comment further, so will let it go) has decided that the very owners who placed the Club into Administration should be the body to 'buy' the shell of the Club - and the so-called 'Golden Share' - and be allowed to run it.
This, to me, utterly beggars belief!
Yes, I realise that the 'preferred bidders' have a different name, but only the most naive of fools would fail to see the connection.
This 'owner', 'custodian', whatever, has over the past few years managed to alienate probably at least 90% of the supporter base of the club with its consistent failures and general mismanagement. Can the Football League possibly condone this as a rational, financially-sound, sensible way to go on? The Club has all but been crushed already. It now has (had?) a chance to rise again and at least play football in its home City, and who knows, maybe even one day flourish?
However, it seems that, to the way of thinking of the Administrator, the Club should be relocated to somewhere outside of the city boundaries (nothing concrete there - no pun - just talk of eventually building some kind of venue after years of a nomadic existence in Staffordshire or some such unrelated county). It's not difficult to gauge the reaction of the supporters and (ex-) season-ticket holders to this - I'm sure the internet and general media furore in the area will not have escaped your attention?
I won't ramble on any more, as I'm sure many others will have fully appraised you of their views already. Just to say - to implore - that the Football League, as the ruling body, gives this matter all the time it deserves, and delivers a verdict on the matter which gives Coventry City Football Club a clear way forward, with the backing of people who care deeply about the Club.
Please; don't break our hearts.

They have to provide a viable plan to return us to the Coventry area and as we all know, Fisher is an excellent theorist but when that plan is actioned... well, look at where we are!!

The FL aren't going to stand in their way. They were reluctant to come out and clearly state which company was in possession of the golden share. It took months. Fail to see how they are going to change and now stand in SISU's way.
They don't have the funds, nor appetite, for a long protracted court case. Their main objective is to retain 72 clubs in the league.

Don't they have to return us to Coventry itself? The Don Valley Stadium was only 1 mile from Rotherham town centre but the FL still stipulated they had to return.

No. Brighton, amongst others, play quite abit away from their Local Authority area. There is a boarder and I guess it varies based on location and surrounding teams but actually in the town or city isn't one.
