The Ricoh is far from being one of the finest grounds in the country. its too big for us. the atmosphere is like a non league friendly due to it being too big for us. it is too expensive to hire, it is not "our ground" we rent it. the buiding is magnificent but the ground is terrible, the stand with the press and the boxes is a complete embarrassment, the pitch is done for, the shape is hard on the eys and the fact it is designed to have the sun blare in our eyes is dated. the cashless payment for foods is a complete nightmare, the shop is overpirced, and the tickets are wildly overpriced. parking is a complete nightmare, leaving the ground in a car is a 30 minute job, the disabled are not looked after as nor our the children. the overall match day experience at the Ricoh is a nightmare. its why we have 10000 fans now and 15 thousand drop offs.

you can blame the owners as much as you want but the truth is if you really look preperly at the ins and outs at the club the owners have bought good players who came for a meal ticket, they let us down, it was the players combined with the stadium being a positive for the visiting sides that let to our on the pitch downfall.

7 wins at the ricoh last season, we had good players for that league, no excuses they should have done better, top 6 at least, how do sisu get the blame for poor results. if its not the owners its the players, a lot of our fans just want someone to blame, it is here i will remind those of you about the owner of Newcastle and how their fans hated their owner... then hes the best thing since sliced bread.

our owners have just got away with not paying out £70 million and been able to stuff the council to, we should applaud them and look forward to our new ground realistically built to fit us, and a good deal of investment on the pitch over the next 3 years. its exciting times !

well we are debt free now. look the truth is this is business, fans are getting worked up understandably but the fact is none of us know what is going on behind the scenes, and particularly the trash we read in the local rag. city are being run by a seriously clever set of individuals who are looking to make a profit on selling the club, bit by bit they are getting they're. the big mistake was the silly council thinking they could take the likes of a venture group and come out winning. who do fans believe have the money to plough into these gamblers? its the rich judges, accountants, bankers, investors, usually persons with huge knowledge of business, law and avoidance!! sisu are backed by owners of successful lives and companies... these people do not get beat, they cover their tracks. next fans will be saying the FA will refuse the sale! the FA cant .. they do not have the jurisdiction. you may hate Sisu but give credit where credit is due, like Thatcher no one liked her at the time, but now everyone says she was their best friend and how magestic she was as prime minister. One day we will sit in our new 25,000 seater stadium watching premier league teams and being in the top half.. then you will hear fans saying "" oh its a good job we kept hold of sisu"" youll see

one more thing if we do not build a new stadium .. i guarantee we have the ricoh on a £150,000 a year contract agreed in the next 2 weeks.

sisu batter acl and the council again. 2 years down the line it will be ACL demanding a rent rise now we are touching the tip of the premier league. its business.
Not sure how you workout we are debt free now. However whatever people's views of how you apportion the blame for the club's current demise one thing is abundantly clear.
Whilst if a football club needs a new full back/centre forward it can go and buy one or get one in on loan or a free. The same thing with a manager, secretary, groundsman scout etc etc.But the one thing you can't go and do is bring in new supporters.
If people all agreed that the club needed to bring the club and stadium together to have any proper future, then it is a 100 times truer to say it with a football club and its supporters. No football club can possibly succeed with the club at loggerheads with its supporters.
Whether it is fair or not on SISU,it is crystal clear that they have lost the overwhelming support of the supporters. It no longer really matters if SISU are right or wrong, they have lost the very lifeblood of the club. And for me that is the main reason they have to go.They will never win back the trust of sufficient supporters to make the club viable. That is the stark reality they face.

Are you mad?

Do you remember TF comment that they submitted the only bid that settles the debts in full? SISU move £70m of debt from one company to another and 'Bob's your uncle' - we're out of administration. SISU write a £72m cheque to the administrator who send a few quid to ACL and the rest back to SUSU while banking his costs.

I'd be gobsmacked if the debt hasn't risen - they'll have to pay the administrator's costs as well.

Debt free - I doubt it!

I think that is what the club will achieve in the long term,. the problem for some of our fans to try and get is the owners are not in this because they owe us anything, they are not emotionally attached as we are. if you owned sisu maybe you would have done a better job - maybe, but the fact is your number one aim in any business is to make profit. the arena problem was a ball and chain around the club and sisu, this situation no matter how upsetting it is has sorted that out now. we will be playing in the ricoh there is no doubt about it, for about 15000 a year. a realistic and affordable price. sisu have done what every other sound business group would have done, im sure even OSB may agree upto a point with me that sisu have done what is called a sound business approach to a protracted battle. on the council, they have taken control of the fight and won, now the ball is firmly in the court of the arena, embarrassingly they have to now approach sisu with a completely new approach, battered and bruised with cloth cap in hand. how can that be a bad thing for ccfc? surely our money for playing staff and improvements are available with the freed up money. why the anger? use your heads not your emotions

I also saw some posts re sisu having to pay their rent?? this is business - contract are renegotiated all the time, why do you thing contract lawers make so much? if your house becomes too expensive to rent or mortgage what other choice do you have but to move out? well played to sisu in my opinion. pusb

No creditors are paid off. All SISU will do is manouvre fictitious funds to pay one of their companies off with another of their companies, meaning they pay nothing and a higher level of debt gets added to CCFC. Wake up and smell the roses.

Other than that my gun is back in the holster as the other points you make could be right
They must have made a bid that the creditors and administrator accepted I.e 10p in the pound so that must mean £7 million for CCFC holdings and 140k for ACL and the debt has been written down, SISU have basically cleared down all of their debts in one fell swoop huge tax write offs as well. They done what they set out to do and ACL have been complicit by applying for administration trying to stress the club financially. If SISU had put themselves into admin without the threat. Of ACL it would have looked a devious act wouldn't it

I agree and disagree, with the sentiment, I think at the minute, there is an epidemic of distrust of SISU (with reason) so people will gove that excuse not to go, but when I think 32k (if we had the space, more would've been sold) v Crewe in the JPT suggests that actually, it's success that fills the RICOH regardless of SISU and how bad the situation is, hypothetical situation here, if we're top of league in Jan, I reckon there'll be approx 17-20k average attendance (maybe more) if we're at the RICOH and even if SISU are owners, because the large proportion aren't attending because we're shit playing shit teams, not because of ownership because frankly, your average fan doesn't really care that much about ownership (I'll grant that it is a push factor, but lets not overstate it) and success, in the L1, Championship, Premiership and in cups etc. gets bums on seats, I really think there's a real disproportion of fans who no longer go because of SISU because the majority of people only want to support winners (as in to spend money on a ticket or ST).

The premis of my argument was that we will be playing next year and possibly the next 3/4/5 years away from Coventry. That is what Tim Fisher has consistently has said,so I am taking him at his word, risky I know.It is my judgement that the overwhelming number of fans would want/prefer new owners, but a lot of fans would stomach SISU ownership reluctantly if we continued to play at the Ricoh,For alot of fans it is the threat to move away from Coventry that has finally broken any residual support for SISU.
Winning the administation battle was always a shoe in for an organisation that lives on these type of legal battles, from now on it gets a good deal more difficult and costly for SISU.As you rightly say the number one aim for a business is to make a profit. For SISU the next few years they are looking at revenues dropping by maybe 80-90%,with costs spiralling up at an alarming rate.Ticket sales down, advertising and sponsorship sales down, merchandising sales down, probably no food and beverage income.
Their 3 year plan for a new ground looks hopelessly optimistic, when compared to how long other grounds took to develop and build.Of course that is always assuming that they obtain planning permission, which is by no means a given.

But they don't spend money on bringing in good players do they!...The anger from CCFC fans is because they haven't invested in good players since buying Dann and Fox, then within 9 months selling both players for many times what they paid for them. Downhill all the way since then.

The answer to the question, it was the only way to re-unite the golden share with the remainder of the club assets.
If the other bidders are really interested in the CLUB they can make on offer to SISU or were they just the vultures flying overhead looking for any scraps drawn in by the stadium, and raising the supporters hopes.

Thing is though, SISU could demand a price that will put off an investor, I think we all ought to accept that SISU will be the owner next season and rally behind the club if we remain at the RICOH.

Sky Blue Taylor - I think you are right as the whole episode of administration must have cost sisu many £m pounds.
Yes get behind the club, that is most important, i'm sure there must be a way back to playing at the ricoh.

Surely all the investors have gone.none of them will hang around now the decision to give it to otium has been made . who's going to be interested in spending millions on a struggling league one side.we only had one half serious bid and that was haskells.good things dont happen to us..if you think it's bad now wait until next week..it will get worse

My point there were just vultures circling overhead and NOT serious in buying a football club but half interested in a stadium or rail link.

shoot me down if you like but sisu buying the club out of administration through another company they have directors in is a good thing, not bad. why is everyone up in arms? this sort of thing takes place every hour of the day in the world of business, essentially it means the companies creditors are paid off at an affordable rate and we as a club are richer for it.

the aim (and i find it hard to understand fans dismay ) is to make the club financially a better option for buyers. did anyone really thing PH or Bying would buy one part of the club knowing the players, assets and what ever else were divided into other companies that sisu would have bartered hard and long on? don't be so naive fellas.

the club is now one, although it is owned by 4 separate companies. at least now a serious buyer can buy all of the club and assets rather than 1 part of the club.

this is not over, the Chinese if they are serious and Haskell if he was serious (which they obviously were not - otherwise they would have bid seriously which they did not) they will now come back - dealing directly with sisu (no administrator involved ) and will do a deal there is no doubt about that whatsoever.

so calm down.

THE RICOH

if anyone thinks sisu are serious about the ground change they need they're heads looking at. they have played a blinder against the council and acl. ACL are now begging the club to play for free all season,(or are they?). ACL never had any intention of buying the club because of the councils involvement - it would have led to judicial reviews and would have been stopped from happening in central government ... we all have to agree as coventry tax payers to the councils investment into a football club, a football club is not a service no matter how you dress it up.

Acl now wont get anything much, they are with out a massive part of their income, they need ccfc more than ccfc need them. The council have a major roll in the decline of our club and history will eventually show this.

i for one hate the ricoh, i would rather they build a new stadium but in the meantime i believe they will play at the ricoh until they build. We are a 20,000 to 25,000 seater club that is the reality ... the stadium does more for the away teams than it does for us. i will also only go to away games, not because i dislike Walsall ground, but because i stopped going to the morgue that is the ricoh 3 years ago.

i support sisu because they are our owners, they certainly know what they are doing, they need to get a Ray Ranson type figure to run the footballing side of things, but now money has been freed up, we may find a new type of kid on the block very soon.

please do not make any silly remarks, constructed and well thought out arguments/replies are sought and criticism is acceptable.

With fans like you we deserve to be where we are. Muppet
