Some of you may know of Knowl. He is our illustrious and well spoken leader over at GMK. We are, on the whole, a peaceful bunch. Yes, we have a dry sense of humour, one which may rub some up the wrong way but like you lot we want a better CCFC. Knowl isn't a member on here but here's what he's had to say today:

Let us know your thoughts.......

I believe we should accept that due process has been correctly carried out and
SISU, through Otium, have regained control of the club after the needless
administration process.

Instead of pointing fingers at the
administrator or the football league, focus should be put on the only two
parties who can gaurentee football is played at the Ricoh Arena next season,
namely the ACL and Coventry City football club.

It is those two parties
alone who can solve this issue and without both sides knowing the distress this
situation is causing I don't believe we will get the solution we desire.

Therefore, I believe that ACL and CCFC should accept talks marshalled by an
independent body to ensure a fair deal is agreed and we can move on from this
sorry mess.

Well, with all due respect, I nominate Knowls post to be considered for the prize of stating the bleeding obvious....and only about 6 months late too.....

The key part to Knowl's message is that this is a fresh start for SISU and ACL based on both sides admitting they need each other; at least in the short-term.

Personally I am all for SISU taking Coventry City outside of Coventry for three short years of pain in order to return close to the city in a new stadium, free of third party influence.

ACL refused it as published on the Sky Blue Trust website

I direct you to question 30

30: Are ACL willing to be bound by an agreement brokered by independent mediators or arbitrator?

ACL: No. We have put our best and final offer on the table after months of negotiation with both SISU and CCFC. It was a reasonable and generous offer, as recognised by all 3 CCFC directors in attendance on 29 January 2013, as they verbally accepted it and shook hands in confirmation. We are not prepared to make further concessions, nor do we believe that any mediator could reasonably expect that we would. The ball is in CCFC’s court. Negotiations are now at an end, and the Board of CCFC have been duly notified.

What's done is done.

We can all point fingers at the past, but that doesn't help the future.

All you are doing in mirroring the SISU - ACL argument. Which proves a point in itself. BOTH sides are at fault and have made errors. Yet the vocal majority of fans side with ACL.

Well, the answers/evidence is there.

Fisher had already been asked if he had the authority to complete a deal before the start of the meeting. He confirmed he had.

My understanding of business is this:
You reach an agreement. All parties shake hands. If you shake hands its an agreement.

Fisher shook hands on a deal. Fisher then goes back on his word.

Therefore, who is to blame? ACL for being naive and trusting a man and his word?

I agree thats not good either, he was obviously overruled by the ringleader Sepalla

I'm not trying to argue that SISU are an example of perfect business practice, just trying to add some balance to the argument about who is to blame for no deal being reached.

I imagine a lot of people will favour the ACL offered a third party to mediate a deal and SISU rejected as it fits the 'I hate everything SISU do' argument more

Even if ACL and SISU do broker a deal... too much water has gone under the bridge with regards to SISU's behaviour towards the fans and what they stand for. Trust and confidence is rock bottom. Whatever happens, SISU are not the right owners for the club and any deal brokered will not benefit the Sky Blues but only SISU. The time they have been here has shown us this.

There is no bright future for the Sky Blues with SISU involved.. The fans can kid themselves as much as they like but that how it stands.

It is extremely naive business practice to not have a deal in writing, especially such an extortionate deal like this one. Words mean nothing.

But we won't be Porky! just that SISU rather than ACL will be landlord.

The reality is that if a mediator had been involved from the start; with the circa. £1.2m and no F&B's - and the reality of the current position and something like £400K per annum and a share of F&B's; the view would be that ACL have been sufficiently accommodating already. Of late, they've even offered for the club to pay for free....

Fisher has gone back time and time again on agreements. He recently stated he hadn't even bothered to participate in talks with Compass - when such were initiated and arranged by ACL - so has no idea of what sort of F&B deal could be struck.

Moreover, what's this all been about in any case? Evidently not about rent, as the rent now offered is more than acceptable. How much more than 'free' does he expect? Not about F&B's either, as firstly, when offered the chance to explore-the-art-of-the-possible on F&B's Fisher didn't even participate; and secondly the idea now offered by Fisher of moving to another stadium, will have an even worse influence than an agreement he could perhaps have been reached with ACL/Compass.

For someone to state they think a line-in-the-sand should be drawn at this point; and that mediation should commence now is to ignore the flexibility already evidenced by ACL, and ignore Fisher's inflexibility and incomprehensible behaviour to date; and as such seems to have no basis in reality. Therefore, for me Knowl's call is wrong. With the greatest of respect and all....

My thoughts are that the independent party may yet need to be in the form of a judge, so that we can see how fair and proper (and feasible) the deal proposed by SISU and the Administrator really is.

If ACL and SISU really can come to a deal that means CCFC stay at the Ricoh, great. But I wouldn't back that if it meant giving the Ricoh to SISU, or if The Higgs Trust or the Council stood to lose a boatload of money. I doubt ACL would back it either, of course.

What I'd really like though is to see a thorough, forensic examination of what's gone on under SISU's watch, ideally under a judge's eye. If it takes us longer to get out of Administration whilst that goes on, so be it.

The offer to play at the Ricoh for free until we're clear of all this stands, I believe. There's no need to roll over and die just yet.

My friend Sisu are not Coventry city football club they will own the stadium and they will therefore be the third party interest you desire not to have!! I despair!!

Where I agree with knowl is that if there is no possibility of a business partnership then Sisu have only one choice and that is to sell up. They can take their time and use more of their investors money but they will have to sell its just when this happens that is up for debate!!

I don't think they are any worse owners than many but they have lost all credibility with their business partners and customer base-us!

Yeah. Absolutely right. Can't trust a man and his word. We only managed to get through as a society for the previous 2,000 years on that premise. Can't be doing with that now, can we?

I imagine the plan was to get the lawyers to draft a proposal that reflected the agreement that was shaken on. Standard practice.

Under normal circumstances.
