Trust letter to the FL (3 Viewers)

The letter seems to miss some hugely important points although they are touched upon.

For me the only way the takeover by Otium will be stopped is under the 'fit and proper' test. All else is a non-starter. SISU can prove funds and provide a business plan for the club - this is routine for them.

What they can't to is walk away form their actions. A few of them would be:-

Failure in Corporate Govenance (director admitted failing to keep proper accounts) - would this include misleading their auditors?
Failure to file accounts and annual returns for the companies in the Sky Blue Sports and Leisure Group.
Failing to pay a lawfully owed rent...
Appearing to remove assets from a company prior to placing it into administration (see administrators report).
Misleading public statements about the nature of CCFC Ltd and whether it was a 'trading' company or not...
Shadow Director (JS) attending meetings with lenders of a third party (Co-Op bank and the ACL mortgage) - what is the Football League's policy regarding Shadow Directors?
Director (TF) describing the club as 'debt free'? (Am I the only one that remembers this?)
Court records regarding the reliability of JS as a witness in a court case?

The list is almost endless although there is good evidence that SISU should fail the 'fit and proper' test it is unlikely they will. I am sure the Football League will do nothing other than place Coventry City on the road to ruin!

They don't represent all CCFC fans but most fans agree in principle with their agenda............other than pgsm.........and you

Psgm1 is very rabidly anti sisu. His paranoid behaviour is almost up there with yours. Like you dadgad silly sky blue John and jack "everyone who supports the club is Tim fisher" griffin not to mention James "never comment on football matters" smith none of you can remove yourselves from a slavish obsession with ACL and the council.

What's crazy is that japandy was speaking perfectly reasonable sense just the other day but something seemed to have snapped.

Great to see the clique reverting to type!

Isn't it odd they make an announcement a few hours after everyone else. They seem almost incapable of ever being ahead of the curve, yet make it out as they are the only voice in coventry!

Also I really really despise the fact they keep referring to sisu as "the club" - when that is the entire point they aren't and have NEVER EVER been the club! It is sisu, and it's parent companys that are in dispute with the landlords - NOT the club. The Fans are the club and will always be so!

And it is a bit rich of a group that cannot even follow its OWN core values (open honest and transparent) to expect others to do otherwise! But hypocricy is nothing new with these guys!

And what is it with them and rhetorical questions? Why ask questions they don't like or want the answer to?

BTW Is their chair still trying to deny Steve.B50 is Steve Brown? Kind of have to ask serious questions of that guys openness honesty and integrity, when he deliberately lies when he knows FULL WELL who he is! But I suppose you don't have to be an honest person, or an original thinker to be chair of the SBT! Just prepared to lie to cover your back, treat others with contempt, and break your promises.

If so, then under those criteria the SBT have a WONDERFUL board

Seriously, shut your face.

What's striking in your posts is that your are rather less intelligent or well educated than you would have us believe. As is the way, it's the little things that betray you... but we see them and we know. I see who you are.

These are all great points and need to be put to any journalists interested in making a piece on this.

Maybe a forum stickie with the reasons SISU are c*nts, I mean allegedly not fit & proper.

Nothing at all wrong in the content but several clear typos which you might want fixed before releasing for publication in the press.

Supported the club & understood the board's dilema, even though they are not from Cov!

Dilemma? Who gives a flying f*** about their dilemma?! They don't care about CCFC, they care about returns for their investors at ANY price.

I don't why I'm telling you this, you're only on here to wind people up.

To Chairman & Board of the Football League

Coventry City Football Club (CCFC)

The Sky Blue Trust is the largest independent Coventry City supporters organisation, with over 2200 members. Recent events at our club have left the Trust and CCFC fans in general deeply concerned for its future. The purpose of this letter is to request that the Football League investigate thoroughly these events and act to secure the future of our club, in Coventry, under responsible ownership.

Above all else, Coventry fans want to see their club play in their city. The current and proposed future owners have made clear their intention to move the club away from Coventry and are not planning on returning within the city boundary. Fans on media sites, online forums and at club organised forums have steadfastly rejected this proposal in great numbers. It must be clear to the owners that nearly all fans do not support the move. The football community in Coventry have rejected the owners’ plan.

The Football League in its values state

“We are at the heart of 72 communities across England and Wales, and share the pride and heritage of each.”

We are looking to the Football League to demonstrate the truth of this core value at a time when the heart of our community is proposed to be transplanted miles away.

The club must be viable. We all accept that. Yet we have been told that the planned move will increase the losses made by the club, will cost millions in building a new ground which will increase the current stated debts of £70m. How is such debt manageable when faced with the certainty that the lifeblood of the club, its fans, will reject the owners’ plans, voting with their feet?

The Football League, we understand, has a defined policy with respect to insolvent clubs. We are told that requirements include:
- Proof of funding;
- Monthly monitoring of a clubs financial performance;
- Share capital of £500k in League 1 for new companies. The Football League share was confirmed as Coventry City Football Club Ltd and therefore membership by another company to operate CCFC would be a new company;
- Security of Ground Tenure for 10 years;
- Owners that meet the requirements of the owners and directors test;
- A financial bond whilst playing outside the club’s conurbation;
- A clear and defined plan to move back in to the clubs conurbation in a set timescale.

Please can you confirm how these requirements are proposed to be met by the new owners of CCFC?

The club has been in dispute with its landlord but it has not, as the club CEO continually asserts, been “locked out.” The owners of the Ricoh Arena remain keen for the team to play home games at the stadium and are ready to hold urgent discussions with the club. The club's owners have chosen to ignore that and follow their planned relocation for reasons of their own, which have never been satisfactorily explained. It makes no sense to fans for the owners to risk the future of the club on a plan that has no clear basis, with no land purchased for their planned stadium, no planning permission. On this basistherefore, there is no secure financial plan and, most importantly, no fan support and so - no income.

How can the Football League allow our club to be put at risk in this manner?

We believe that the Football League must investigate the proposed ownership of our club. Do the owners and directors meet the League’s requirements? There is evidence that suggests the proposed new owner is nothing more than a shell company,: is that really the type of ownership that the Football League believes is in the best interests of football?

We believe it is time that the football authorities urgently make efforts to protect the one thing that truly matters – the interests of the fans. Without them no club is viable.

We are looking forward to meeting your representatives next week, to discuss in detail the concerns our members and CCFC fans as a whole have and to understand in detail the action the Football League will take to address them properly.

Keep our club in Coventry

I was refering to his name however I do pass wind in his general direction:p

I'm sure Eric Idle calls somebody bignose..I'm thinking possibly in Life of Brian. Maybe somewhere around the crucifixion scene! I think it was also used as an insult in Asterix, emphasising the Roman vibe to the insult :)

What's crazy is that japandy was speaking perfectly reasonable sense just the other day but something seemed to have snapped.

I'm not sure how to put this but I'll have a go. Japandy has been around various Cov forums for a good while. He had a brain tumour some years ago. He has been quite upfront about this. It, or perhaps its treatment, has inevitably caused some cognitive issues.

He's a good guy. I understand that not that many people would be aware of his issues so I am in no way criticising anyone for responding to what they see.

He'll be quite cross that I've said this but I was a bit pissed off when I saw Nick having a go at him earlier when complete tossers like pgsm seem to be given greater leeway than Andy.

He's a good bloke.

Cheers for the heads up Grappa.

the thing with PSGM ,is he often can nail it all in a very erudite way ,then the next time he's on he destroys it .I reckon Nicks gonna have to ban SL onAir as every time he shows up now,PSGM follows.

It's most likely a combination of both especially as I imagine he'll be on chemo for a brain tumour. As you say very few here would have known about it so does make a lot more sense now-hope he gets better.

I remember we were playing at Villa Park, was in the side section a couple of rows from the front. Andy Townsend runs over to us to pick the ball up for a throw in, and one of our lads shouts:

"Oi! Big Nose!"

Townsend looks towards up, and the guys shouts "HA! He looked!!"

The rest of our lot crack up and are shouting "big nose" every time he touched the ball.
