I want Sky Blues to play at the Ricoh-- end of ! I hope we stuff SISU, take over Nuneaton Boro and re-name them Coventry Sky Blues.

I'm angry, very angry and if this is the only way to rid this cancer -- bring it on !

Can people please stop suggesting this utter hypocrisy!

Killing two clubs for the price of one is not the way! It invalidates all reasons to be angry and just makes people look self-centred and wih no right to protest!

With you all the way on this one.
Haskell could buy the Ricoh and Nuneaton and in 12 months we could be where CCFC will be under SISU(League 2)

Never been a big fan of the NOT ONE PENNY MORE idea but now I am 100% behind it.

Anyone who does go to games is an idiot and all they are doing is offering a lingering death to the club.

Stave them out now, no one go to games at Norhampton and ask all away fans not to go.

Of course I respect your opinion, goes without saying. So that we all know, what are your suggestions ?

I have given my suggestions elsewhere.

My suggestions are certainly not rank hypocrisy however.

So you think we should do a SISU and move Nuneaton out of their town? What a great move that would be

It could be for Nuneaton providing we retained the Nuneaton name somewhere. There will be a lot of CCFC fans wanting to watch football and a "Coventry and Warwickshire" team would go down a storm.

Buying Nuneaton and moving them to the Ricoh has to happen if the football league don't stop this stupidity. As fans we have no choice but to adapt to the ruthlessness exhibited by Sisu and the league. Get on and do it!

I agree with you up to " take over Nuneaton Boro and re-name them Coventry Sky Blues" I can't and won't support Nuneaton, and i don't think most boro fans would like us buying them out and renaming/re-locating etc. Oh the irony

lol the Ricoh is on the border of Nuneaton and a lot of people from nuneaton support Cov

Who cares about Nuneaton? LOL! No one will miss them when they're gone and renamed Coventry Nuns FC! I know this situation has nothing to do Nuneaton Town and its fans, but who cares! As long as we make sure we have a team that we can call our own I don't care who will bulldoze on the way!

This is a much better idea than Timmy Fishy-Wishy-Woos! He's going to move us out of Coventry?!?! Well screw you Timmy - if Mohammed won't come to the mountain, we'll move the mountain to Mohammed!!!

CNFC!!!

I lot of people in Coventry 'support' Man Utd, probably more than support Cov. Let's move them down here.

Yup, could move Northampton Rugby into the Ricoh, find a half decent ice hockey team to move into the city, and have a sporting empire right here, right now!

Please don't go down this route VOR we must keep the spirit and public opinion and your only giving the usual suspects a flag to rally round PUSB

This is in my top 5 of most idiotic things I've read on this forum.

Bravo Sir, thats an astonishing achievement.

So where exactly do you think CCFC will be in 12 months time under SISU?
Some people need to get their heads out of the sand and stop waiving their arse's in the air, otherwise these bastards will fcuk you some more.
As I see it, the reason for the Nuneaton suggestion, is that, it is an option that could see us watching the same level of football as we do now in Coventry, at the Ricoh and quicker than the alternative under SISU.
Nuneaton is close to the Ricoh
Nuneaton are struggling financially and need investment
Nuneaton already utilise the services of a number of CCFC players
Nuneaton own their ground which could be developed for training facilities, housing the academy, and hosting Youth team and under 21 games
Nuneaton is virtually in Coventry or it was when I lived in the uk.
All it would need would be for Haskell to take them over along with 50% ownership of the Ricoh and you get Coventry and Nuneaton Sky Blues.
Surely, this has got to be a better option than watching CCFC at Sixfields to return to Brandon in god knows how many years.
I would support the idea, if it makes me an idiot, then so what, I won't lose any sleep.

So.....we're being moved away from our own ground, and we're all pissed about it.

So the solution is to take a football club, move them away from their own ground, and not worry about what their fans think.

In other words, the way to beat SISU....is to be SISU???

This is a hypothetical scenario, in contrast to SISU's hypothetical scenario of a new ground.
It could only happen if someone was serious enough and wanted it to.
I have no idea what Nuneaton fans would think.
But if you said to them, next season you will be playing at the Ricoh, under new owners, with better players and the season after you will be in League 2. BTW, there is a slight catch, you will be called Coventry and Nuneaton Sky Blues. The majority would say yes.
Our situation is the exact opposite.
We are going to a tin pot ground share with shit owners, worse players due to an embargo, and the probability of relegation.

It shows such an abject lack of respect for others, those who suggest it are actually encouraging SISU to do it to us, although they probably can't see it!

I'm aware of its hypothetical nature. I also acknowledge that the details you provide here would probably be largely correct (although suggesting the majority of Nuneaton fans would say yes is pure supposition).

The suggestion is still however to go and do to somebody else what is being done to us. Now, if people are comfortable with that ever happening, fine. I think it's hypocritical, to be honest, and it would make whoever was the owner (e.g. Haskell) no better than SISU. I certainly would not ever support such an entity, even if CCFC ceased to exist, because while it might be a 'Coventry' club its birth would be the result of a practise that I disagree with.

It's still franchise football, no matter how much it gets dressed up, in my opinion.

Why oh why is this stupid idea being talked about yet again?
Nuneaton is Nuneaton. Nuneaton is not Coventry. Leave Nuneaton to Nuneaton's fans.
If we want a new team at the Ricoh, get sponsors, talk to the Ricoh, approach the league and start at the bottom with Coventry Phoenix Football Club and in a few years we would be back in the leagues with our own fan-owned Coventry football club.
Please for the love of Gods stop with this Nuneaton rubbish.

If we did go the way of a Phoenix football club. How many years would it take to get to where we are right now in terms of league status? and how many fans would be prepared to wait that long?
The Nuneaton option is Hypothetical and as for Nuneaton not being Coventry, it has a CV postcode and the same dialing code, so to me its as good as Brandon.

If you accept Nuneaton being rebranded, you give tacit consent to SISU doing what they want with the club.

Accept Nuneaton being rebranded, you cause Coventry city to move, as much as the owners, as you are normalising the process and considering it acceptable.
