So, you'd rather go to the ricoh? (12 Viewers)

Well then, lets see everyone, myself included, walk the walk.

While SISU FC play their first game of the season at sixfields. Lets all gather (and i mean all those people that have said they will only go to games at the ricoh) AT THE RICOH. Lets show SISU where the fans of ccfc want to be and from 3pm - 5pm camp out at the ricoh.

Bring deck chairs, bring food and drink, bring the joy seppalla statue and wear your sky blue with pride. We'll bring a boombox and listen to the match on the radio together, as fans!

To make it work, we have to have an attendance of more than those at sixfields, then we prove our point
And cancel out any fans that have travelled to northampton and help sisu's cause!

I think it would only get publicity if it was as big as the Northampton crowd, and am not convinced you would get that though.

If only a couple of hundred turned up it would totally backfire.

Definately! It would look stupid, but we've got enough time to massively push this, if the trust got behind it, used some of there swelling kitty to fund a bbq or something, posters around the city, a proper campaign, then maybe just maybe we'll get the 1000/2000 needed

Would be even better if ACL let say Cov Sphinx play there for nothing for a season and we got bigger crowds than the attendance at Sixfields.

That would be very embarrassing for the club.

Not saying it's feasible, but that would certainly get the publicity and coverage.

Good idea, make it happen SBT!

Get the Telegraph on board too, it'll help boost the numbers from hundreds to thousands.

Great idea, and about the numbers, over 10,000 signed a petition to keep Coventry in Coventry, stand up and be counted.

I honestly feel that because we will have a confirmed date, thats a good month in the future we have enough time to get a good backing for this.
If we speak to the bbc about listening to the game at the ricoh by way of protest there may be someone there that can support us.

I am a very very back seat member of the trust and i appreciate their efforts thus far, and any real movement needs the support of the "offical trust" but the "protests" so far havent hit the ideal numbers, maybe because it has meant people must break routine or travel excessively.
However with this, maybe, this is what people would be gearing up for anyway, first home game, at the ricoh on an august saturday,

We can push for good media coverage throughout this month, advertise around the city and hopefully ALL come together to show sisu that the fans want to be at the ricoh and so on a saturday, thats where we'll be

Would be great all round.

We would get to watch some footie, Sphinx would have their coffers filled and have a chance for their players to play on a big stage for a season and it would keep the Ricoh in the spotlight and the stay away fans united.

And how many do you seriously think would go northampton? My guess , a 1000 if that.

What if the 1st game is on Friday night, clash with Northampton on the 10th, they could open one of the bars, a summer night, cold beers and bbqs.

Maybe as mentioned its worth talking to sphinx and acl to see if both will come on board for the first game of the season initially, however i think the protest should be that we listen to the cov game at the ricoh rather than "support" another team. May just add ammunition to a sisu pr response.
We want to support CCFC but we want to do it at the ricoh not sixfields

Well my idea was to have the City on our radios listening to the game at the same time.

You could even have Sphinx kicking off early, at say 2 p.m.

Not saying we should support someone else instead of City, just that if we are going up the Rioch anyway and the stadium is empty, it would be better to have something on inside the stadium, otherwise turning up every other week standing outside the stadium could get a bit mundane and monotonous.

Tbf, I think this idea is one of the better ones! Timing would be right (had we been playing at the Ricoh, we'd be going anyway, so not like people can really say 'I have so,etching else on'). Even I would consider attending this, something I haven't done with the other things put on.

As Otis says though, it will only work if people turn up numbers, ideally the 0000's.

Do think it could work better than the previously arranged 'protests', but I do worry it will have no effect on SISU. It may however make the Football League listen.

That said, if it happens, please please PLEASE, do not get the coffin out again :)

I was thinking of a one off, first game of the season protest, rather than planning for a season long thing, we dont know whats going to happen in the long term.
I agree in principal it would be better to have something to watch rather than just listen.

If sphinx wanted to K.O early and we got the commentary of the city game over the P.A it would be stuff of dreams.

I cant claim this to be my idea as ive just seen the same thing mentioned in other threads about an hour ago.
But i honestly feel if this is managed correctly, we could do this.

Im putting the idea out there, for a real protest. If the trust take it up. We' MUST do better than the last few "protests"
