You folk need to calm down, the way some were gojng on, it was as if he was about to lose, he lost the first set, big deal, there's 4 more sets to be played! The amont of times Murray has won a 1st set v Nadal, Federer and Djockovic yet still gone on to lose...

All the 7's today
last uk singles winner at wimbledon was in 1977(wade)
77 years since Fred Perry won
Murray and Novak Djokovic were born 7 days apart.(murray born on cup final eve in '87)
if murray wins his win % would be 77%
today is the 7th of the 7th:thinking about:

Tbh I'm a little defensive of Murray as there is a misconception amongst the English that he is a miserable, moody England hater (which I explained in last Wimbledon thread)
I believe he is great, the reason being he is in a golden era and even though he has won only one slam (he will win more) his record in big tournaments is superb and if he had been around in the 90's he would have walked it.
He and Novak will dominate for the next 5 years so I'm sure he will end up going down in history as a great.

the so called golden era you talk of is actually coming to an end really , federer and nadal are going off the boil somewhat, federer is virtually finished (he is a true great , probably the greatest ever tennis player) but who does murray and novac have to challenge them now i mean really , if he was a great or to be remembered as a great he had to win a slam when federer and nadal were at their peak ,but he didnt ,so how can he be a great .
all being said i hope he wins today

15000 in centre court, it doesn't look that much.

Just needs to win this game to go two sets up

A golden era nonetheless.
He has won a slam with some great players in it. He can only beat what's in front of him, Sampras goes down as a great Wimbledon champion but his competition was poor at best.

Agreed, after losing 3 Championship points he could have crumpled in the heat. I thought it would be a good game, didn't expect 3 sets to 0!

That's BBC Sports Personality of the Year all done and dusted then!
