Hello Chaps,
Rangers fan here and I wish you all the best in the coming months and empathise greatly with your predicament, as Coventry City are one of games long established club's in the game I wish you nothing but good luck in the coming months.
I think it is worth mentioning a few things though about the newco route should Coventry end up going that way as happened to my club.
Rangers FC were formed in 1872 and the company that run the club wasn't established until 1899. The club itself was not liquidated and remains to this day. The company that ran and operated the club 'The Rangers Football Club plc' was consigned to liquidation - something that has still to happen owing to the liquidators investigating the circumstances of events that lead the company to going into admin and then being consigned for liquidation. A criminal investigation is also taking place.
Regardless, the football club and it's assets were purchased out of administration and the club continued with all its history and honours under a new operator - thus a newco - albeit being demoted to the lowest tier of the professional game after a shambolic episode of point scoring and bitterness from other clubs who wished to kick the club when it was at its lowest ebb. The SFA, SPL, ECA, UEFA and eminent Law Lords in Scottish courts all recognise Rangers FC as the same club formed in 1872 because the club continues, it's league share was transferred to the new operator to run the club and it's history is unbroken as a result. A club like any other organisation can be bought or sold and continue regardless of its operator.
When HMRC blocked our CVA they said "the
liquidation route does not prejudice the proposed sale of the club. This sale [of Rangers FC] can take place either through a CVA or a liquidation."
The EEC said "The organisation considers the club’s history to be continuous regardless of the change of company"
The SFA said 'Newco are "the new owners of the Rangers Football Club"
Is there any reason why this would not happen to Coventry City ? I don't see why not ?
A link on one of our forums may help you understand better if you wish to read up on it and what it may hold for your own club.

Once again good luck and all the best going forward. All the best to Coventry City and its loyal supporters.
