islington born and bred ,,so follow arsenal,,everyone else in the family support them but have supported coventry since we moved to rugby in 75 as always thought you should follow your local team

Arsenal, they were the best team when i was a kid, so you now...They also had Dennis Bergkamp, who is my favourite footballer ever. If Emmanuel Eboue ever moved team or became a manager i would support that club.

Could never follow another British team other than Cov. But having lived out in Asia for so long my favorite teams here are:
South China (HK league)
Gombak United (S league).
Supporting South China has been a revelation because they always win something every year, so a slightly different experience from following Cov. That said, they still sell their best players to other clubs in bigger countries in the region. The average attendances in the HK and Singapore leagues are around 1,000-2,000 spectators only. Although when South China got to the semi-finals of the AFC Cup (like the EUFA Cup for Asia) they pulled in nearly 40,000 people.

Obviously A cov fan through and through but I live in Irthlingborough where Rushden and Diamonds play. Been to a few of their games and always look out for results.. Best day was when we beat them 8-0. Classic.

That's weird, they are my two teams. I was brought up in Weymouth, but my Cov family got me into the Sky Blues when I was young. One of my first football memories was us beating Everton 4-1 in May 1985.
Live in Manchester now (opposite the City of Manc stadium), but still follow the Terras results - in fact, seeing Weymouth with that crook chairman George Rolls makes me realise how 'lucky' we are to have SISU
I have irrational soft spots for numerous clubs for various reasons - Millwall, Cheltenham, Ajax, Plymouth, Portadown, FC Koln, Partick Thistle, LA Galaxy (lived there) and so on.

Barnet, started looking out for their results when they got promoted to the football league in the late 80's. keep saying I'll go and watch them play one day, maybe this year.
Also keep an eye on Hearts results, only because most kids at school liked Rangers or Celtic, never liked to make things easy and conform!

Why? Football is a national pastime and although most people support their home team (e.g. CCFC as on this forum), they also have an affinity to another team which may have a special meaning to them, e.g. family, being brought up there etc. etc. So to say "2nd teams are bullshit" is a bullshit post!

When city dont play we go and watch Crewe. We visited there one game back in the 90's were made toi feel really welcome and they won 7-1! Seen them play at Wembley twice and generally always have a good time there. Though when City won 6-1 there i was in the away end cheering 6 goals and politely clapping 1!

Moved to Banbury age 12 and Dad took me to see the nearest team! That was 31 years ago and ive been a die hard ever since!
i often joked with him "couldnt we have moved to nearer Manchester!!??"
