Trust protest on Saturday (6 Viewers)

So after the post gathering interest and most fans and members saying it should be done in Nuneaton because of the game and the ease, it has been announced it is on Saturday in Northampton!

I have personally lost all faith as a trust member, they are representing me as a fan but again won't listen to any feedback!

The announcement:

City fans will be publicising their message in Northampton at 10am Saturday 13 July by erecting banners and signs at the A4500 and A5076 traffic islands for the Sixfields Leisure Complex. Michael Orton, a Sky Blue Trust Board member, explained: “David Cardoza, Joy Seppala and the Football League are sounding the death knell for Coventry City. Fans are going to fight the move to Northampton every step of the way and do everything they can to stop this plan going ahead”.

Coventry fans have already staged one ‘flashmob’ event in Northampton, attracting national and international coverage. Saturday’s event is the next step in what is promising to be an on-going campaign to keep Coventry at their home ground, the Ricoh Arena, and for the planned relocation to Northampton to be abandoned.

isn't the idea that it's being done early so people will be back in time for a second protest at the game in the afternoon?

Any details about the Nuneaton protest then? It is just that not everybody can read minds?

We have no official protest panned for Saturday, we felt that it would be better to get behind the team and show that its not he payers that are hurting the supporters. Michael is with the Trust but he felt that he wanted to do more on Saturday. The Trust is planning an event on Saturday 20th that will allow all supporters and those from Coventry who do not agree with the move from Coventry to get involved.
We can assure everyone we are all working hard behind the scenes and have been very busy getting the message over the relevant people.
Members of the Trust have met with MPs, Tim Fisher, ACL, Preston Haskell, Football League and other Trusts over the last two weeks and also meeting Nikki Sinclare on Monday.
This battle is not over.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for clearing it up, so it's not a trust protest it is just Michael?

I am sure Michael will not be alone but most of us will be at the Nuneaton game.
Am sure the supporters will let there feelings be heard without anything being organised. We are intending to meet early and want to get some Trust forms out to supporters and start explaining our plans for the following Saturday. Some will also be giving out black balloons as a sign of how we feel.

I am dismayed at this continual obsession with hanging around Northampton. There will clearly be a line drawn in the sand between CCFC Supporters and ours who actually have a hell of a lot of solidarity with you. Moreso if you attempt to disrupt our derby game with Peterborough on the 20th.

Wow what a surprise. One half of the clique doesn't know what the other is doing!

This Michael went out of his way to say he is a board member of the trust, therefore, not unreasonable to expect this was a sanctioned protest!

How dare you cretins say you represent the fans, when you cannot even agree on the protests within your ranks!

Brilliant. No wonder the brain dead support you, and the real brain dead support you but don't pay the subs!

The sooner you lot fuck off with fisher the better. Conbsidering you are supposedly joining the fans together you are doing a bloody good job of causing splits!

How can you expect to be taken seriously when on one hand you say a protest here, then another it isn't you!

This is why I utterly despise the clique and their trolls. Sisu are scum, but you guys try and pretend you are the good guys. Yet you have your trolls infesting the forums, trying to suppress any dissent!

That is worse than sisu! They at least don't pretend to be fans!

Sadly he has a point about 1 individual announcing an ill thought out protest at Northampton on a day when we are playing on our doorstep which should be a massive point of protest and media attention .

Could this be any more embarassing for the clique? It even looks like one of these tossers is doing precisely that behind that pathetic mannequin! When will these clowns realise the clique is now finished? They have at least not wasted any money on the banners, yet it looks like "keep cov in civ"! These fucktards cannot even spell Cov properly! No wonder Turkey baster thinks they are the greatest thing since slice bread! 6 people out of a claimed 2,200! It is so humiliating I wouldn't even have posted the photo. Even the 24 hour starvation protest has more credibility than these people now! Perhaps people will finally realise what I have been saying about the clique all along - they are a joke! Yet they still expect to be given 20% of the club for free! If anything I would urge the admin to boycott anything to do with the clique from now on. They have had more than enough publicity, they have failed every single "protest". Now all they are doing is embarassing the club! Time to put these cretins out of our misery. Block the trust trolls once and for all, they are a disgrace to the club

Yeah, it was a very bad idea to make a call to go to Northampton today, the focus should have been on packing out Nuneaton, the rest would take care of itself..

To make a protest successful it has to be easy for everyone..

What an embarrassing protest. I drove past expecting to see a few hundred people chanting and singing, instead there was about 10 people who looked disinterested and had spelt 75% of their signs wrong.

You're doing yourself no favours with these little rubbish protests. Think big, get hundreds along to FL headquarters or Coventry (where you'll get loads attending).

It's not rocket science. We had a protest march around 6 years or so ago from our Guildhall to Sixfields and it had a few hundred attendees and created lots of interest. You need numbers and a proper plan.

10 people standing on a roundabout will achieve nothing.

The reason that I and others didnt go was because we could see bit of tension creeping in with the Acl announcement yesterday. The last thing we wanted was potential trouble between the two sets of fans.

And you've done what exactly?

From the NOPM Facebook page on Thursday:

Saturday 13 July - 1pm onwards at Nuneaton ground organised by Sky Blue Trust - email [email protected]

Thought you were in league with the NOPM campaign? I'm signed up to the Trust and haven't had one bloody email on canvassing my opinion, you've just gone off and joined forces with NOPM without any consultation - now it seems the pair of you don't even communicate with each other!

I'm all for positive action and, if asked, would agree with the joint venture....but with everything that has gone on in the last couple of days, you've missed a trick. The first time you could have had a decent number of fans get together because we're playing and you've blown it. FFS, you can have meetings with as many relevant people as you want, but at the end of the day its Fisher who is going to decide what the endgame is. Hit him in the pocket and hit him in the image stakes. Let the world know SISU is losing money with CCFC.

And who says you can't get behind the team and STILL let Fisher know whats what before, at half time, and after the game.

Seems like the Trust got national coverage in the Independent with the black balloon protest - trust members and ex players interviewed in the article. Well done Trust - and before some anti trust hot head accuses me of it let me be clear - never have been a member, been to a meeting or have much of an idea about whether they are any good or not.

Your fans would could have lit their farts in the stands at Nuneaton and the press would have covered it. About the issue not the quality of the protest.
