Quite a lot of disabled & elderly people in motorised chairs on march and an awful lot of children.

Definitely more impressive that the "protests" at sixfields and I would think more notable. Well done to all involved

great turn out good foto's send me fone number of godiva
We've just been exchanging texts :)
The two girls were absolutely stunned by the response from everyone. Total respect shown to them by all the SBA. Even when we walked the horses around the back to the horse box to load them up a number of fans came out of The Establishment to have their pictures taken with the girls and, although a little worse for wear, they acted like proper gentlemen. I'm a proud Cov fan today!

A very proud day indeed. Brilliantly well done to he organisers, speakers and all those who attended (and even those who supported in spirit).

Well done all. Great turn out, wish I could have been there. The pics of Gosford looked just like the end of a match at HR, brilliant.

Does anyone know roughly how many fans were actually there today? seemed like a good couple of thousand to me?

Significantly more than a couple of thousand... as I walked under the flyover by Cov UNI and looked back I couldn't see the end of the march.. hard to estimate.. must have been 4-5000 I would have thought or have my sky blue eyes deceived me?

The police expected 300. They then said 2 to 2.5k. Increased to 4 to 5k then another said 7k in total from people who were at Gosford Green and Broadgate at the same time.
I know there was a lot!

At first I thought it would be great to get a thousand there. When I arrived there must have been 2500 on Gosford Green but by the time we set out to walk into town I estimate around 5000. Amazing turn out. Everybody should be more than proud today.

Same was hoping we could manage about 1000, couldn't believe the turnout!

I assume you mean the depth of sky blue support shown.. and I agree it is an awesome shot.
It also portrays a sadder side.. the young faces in the picture who, if SISU get their way will miss the opportunity to be affiliated with the football team of the city of their birth(assumed). A lost generation of supporters forever to favour one of the "big" four.
So the picture paints profit and loss on the same page?

Exactly what I was getting at. My young lad was there today too, about the same age as the boy in the picture, and I got a bit teary at one point thinking that this was the first season I was going to take him to games. Last season he would always be in the window in his city shirt waving as I set off for the match. I promised him all last season that I will take him 'soon'. I tried to explain to him today where we were going when we left the house, bless him he thought I was taking him to a game.
