I thought his tweet said Couldn't see the "first team physio" ?

I've just checked & you are correct.....

...So Let the first team physio look after the first team...

...and you're currently not in it Gary....so pull your finger out & get back training instead of loafing about, playing golf & making snide pops on twatter.....or just piss off & stop milking the club...

If any of our players have to pay for private treatment to get fit more quickly, then we've really lost sight of what's important at the club.

not at all, we are a league one club, in the case of Baker he has paid to see the very top of the field, by doing so it enabled him to only miss a game and then return to the 1st team. We obviously do offer a decent level of care otherwise McSheffrey would not be moaning about it.....

I saw the thread title and thought that someone had planted something under Timmys car and the people who were called to deal with it couldn't book themselves into the local spa for a pedicure.

Bad times.

They should go straight to the PFA with that. Further embarrassing decisions from out tin pot owners.

Get some morals and respect your employees, you signed them!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're a club with a multi-million turnover and we can't afford to keep our most valuable assets in good order. Some kind of false economy there.

When you've got a player that you're paying, in effect, a few thousand pounds for per game, then he doesn't have to miss many games to make even an expensive surgeon worthwhile. Seems very odd to me.

I guess you'd say that if you hadn't earnt £4M+ (conservative guess before tax) from your career so far and really needed that extra £500k. But Sheffers has earnt that much.

If I were offered 20% outright of my possible earnings to the date I retire (say 65) right now and gamble I could get a job that paid the same as I currently do OR stay in this job knowing that I'm going to be here for the rest of my life earning £30k PA I know which I'd chose because I like the security of having a job..... But I haven't earnt £4M before that decision was presented to me. If I had then I reckon I'd take the payout and be off like a shot.

Fuck me, if Hussey can get a footballing job elsewhere then McSheffrey should have no problems :D

I think the way these players (like them or not) have been treated is disgusting. It looks like SP fits right in with the SISU regime. Im not a big SP fan and this is hardly making me think any different of him. Imagine what it must be like supporting a club with good/honest owners, playing in the City/Town you represent with a decent manager and a squad full of talent having high hopes season after season:sleep:

So Pressley has spoken on the matter.

They do have a physio, they also have a sports scientists and coaches.

He was just not allowed to see the 1st team physio, which is fair enough as he is not in the 1st team squad. Pretty clear his tweet was meant to try and cause a bit of an upset and gather some sympathy.

If thats his true character I can see why the manager feels its best to keep him away from the squad as he could be a negative influence on other players and god knows we have enough of them hanging around the place.

This whole 'bomb squad' more accurately 'leper squad' is wholly distasteful, cheap and nasty and reflects really poorly on our club --
welcome to Sisu's Coventry City.

That puts a whole different light on it. I've defended him in the past when he's been getting stick. F.--k him now, why jeopardise the future of his ex team mates who earn a fraction of what he does yet still put a full shift in both on and off the pitch to try and drive the club forward.

This whole Bomb Squad thing doesn't sit well with me at all. Unless there was some huge dressing room discontent caused by these players, and I find it hard to believe they were all trouble makers, then it's cutting off your nose to spite your face. Surely just having them around to make the numbers up and play if needed. Even before you consider the embargo it all seems a bit childish but knowing we can't bring anyone in, possibly until the next window if we stay in admin for a while, it just seems stupid.

His reasoning on Twitter as to why he didn't take the offer and stick out the 2 years was to keep having the income to look after his daughter & pay his bills, which is a fair comment.... if he hadn't earn't £20k a week at Blues for 3 years and £10K a week at CCFC for god knows how many years before that.

You spend at the level you earn.

You and your family become used to that level.

Gotta say if I had a contract at work. I had done nothing wrong but they decide they want to get rid of me as get are paying me too much. They offer me 1/5 of my contract. They then move me into a portakabin in the car park, in order to try and pressurise me into accepting the deal.
I know what I would do.
I wonder if they even tried to negotiate

They're lucky they have a choice, plenty of public sector employees on permanent contracts have been made compulsory redundant with little more than 15 weeks wages.

Chief Commentator!
Is pretty poor IMO! Considering in the past we've foot injury bills for the likes of O'Neil and Bell only to let them drain the club (although Bell has done the honest thing and agreed to end his contract, but if I'm honest it's a season too late!), I do think its a bit shoddy of the club!

It's a disgrace! he should be concentrating on getting macca fitter, he's young enough to play a big part in this league. he was poor by his standards last season but far from being finished under the right manager. Are we so good to think these players are not needed?

But either way it makes no sense. If they don't have those people full time supporting them then they are getting less care than there colleagues and if they do were wasting three salaries on back room staff when desperate for cash as a club.

We also need an old head at Centre Half and the Edge would be ok,
Seems very silly not to let these train with squad, if they played the odd game they could put themselves in the shop window.
Last night at Cheltenham was avarage, finished the game with a 15 year old and 17 year old at Full backs, Clarke and a 16 year old at CH.
