A club with no ground and no fan base - Northampton are unlikely to want a cuckoo like that in their nest too long, so then what?

Build another ground "somewhere else" and hope you can build a fan base willing to watch 4th division or Conference football?

Move to one of the many empty grounds in the country e.g. Nene Park or Millmoor in Rotherham?

I doubt that SISU are rubbing their hands in glee at the prospect of how much a "win" like that will be worth to them.

We're going to be groundsharing shortly unless (as far as I can see) a miracle happens and unless SISU actually build the White Elephant we're likely to be homeless if NTFC decide they don't like us anymore. I'm worried as I said before that ACL might not have been doing a "Timmy" and can survive without us and do find another use for the pitch. If this happens then our chances of returning there are close to nil and the club since I've been a supporter will have no home, rented or owned. We always had the option of buying back HR should the Ricoh have not gone ahead and therefore could have done just that but no chance of that now. I'm seriously worried that after a season NTFC decide that the pitch can't take it and say sorry we're using a get out in the rent agreement, or SISU decide not to pay it again and we are told we can take a hike. Where then do we go? How much further from our home can we get?

Just speaking to my brother..and one of his Masonic brothers..is very up to date on rugby planning matters ..and he has told him that the proposed site is the old garden centre opposite the speedway stadium not the stadium itself..they want the stadium site for parking etc ..but the actual football stadium is proposed for the other side of the road... My brother has no interest in football whatsoever so has nothing to gain from making it up...and is probably why rugby borough council can happily deny it being at the speedway stadium

So they are proposing that up to 30000 fans will have to cross the only access road to get from he car park to the stadium!? It just gets more ridiculous.

And how big would that underpass or bridge have to be to carry that volume of pedestrians and satisfy health and safety requirements? It is not the "least of their worries" surely?

By least of there worries.. I mean they still have to get thru public consultation,planning permission,highways and bye ways laws etc..

I am in no way advocating this move merely passing on what someone who has ties with rugby borough council has told my brother..sisu have obviously made tentative inquiries even if its just to leave a false trail to worry acl into selling

But suppose they do survive and find another use for the pitch, maybe they aren't just saying that they can survive and actually can? Not only do we then have no home but SISU would then have to go through with their stadium and I think we all know how likely that is. I've always relied on the fact that we'll have the Ricoh to fall back on if something goes wrong with the Sixfields deal but that's looking less and less likely. We've never actually been homeless since I started supporting the Sky Blues - and it's a very scary prospect.
