Are the club pissing about with contracts? (1 Viewer)

So now Gunnar and King's agents have both said the club are messing about and stalling with contracts and after the Tabb incident does this not point fingers at the club / SISU.

How long will the club keep saying "We have offered contracts" and the players keep saying "I haven't had a contract" before somebody sees the club is talking rubbish?

I think Brody is very clever when it comes to marketing and PR.

The evidence would suggest that they definatly sit on their collective hand a wee bit!:jerkit:

When King went, he had been in prison so obviously he was public enemy number 1 and the club played on that.

So many players come out and say they never received a contract offer that the club says they offered.

Do they need a new fax machine?

They've probably been accidently putting them in the shredder instead, then wondering what has happened.

The club offered contracts in April. He turned it down 2 days ago.

Yet an agent says the club are stalling.

it does sound that way ALTHOUGH.....

....i bet it's not taken too much imagination for Gunnar and his agent to jump on the "ccfc messing up contracts" bandwagon when they got offered a contract that wasn't as much as they wanted. I thnk a club in our position needs to be negotiating with players about thier contracts and trying to get the best deal for the club and the player.......they've put thier offer on the table and hopefully we can meet half way

I don't think I've ever trusted a board since I've been a City fan. We've had some shady operators in the past, but the current crop love their smoke and mirrors. Very hard to know who to believe, though a trend seems to be emerging.

The club got away with it because of King's past, but if Gunnar leaves and turns around and said "the board were not bothered about contracts, they didn't offer me stuff they said" then surely it makes the club look bad?

Tabb didn't hold back in saying that it was the club's fault.

Tabb was homesick as I understood it and King and his agent are hardly a moral compass to set your standard by. It gives other agents a stick to use and an easy get out for the player.

Whatever the circumstances the one thing I expect of players when they leave is not to slag off the club (ala Bellamy). You've got your move, take your money quietly and move on.

I would imagine Gunnar is still impressionable at his age, but does seem quite touchy and lets things get to him easily. Imo he needs to grow a tougher skin, which will perhaps come with age but might also suggest that mentally he isn't yet worthy of an improved deal and if he is not 100% happy then it is probably best for him and the club to part company.

We need character in the side and the dressing room. Ones who will fight harder when things are not going so well.

In short lets not use every opportunity to blame the board for playing decisions surrounding contract issues. I'm sure in part the board are culpable, but as with agents having an easy excuse it appears the fans too have an easy get out when we don't get what we want.

Like many of you I'm not a huge fan of SISU and I'm sure they are often using spin to be less than honest with us, but like it or lump it we are stuck with them until someone else is prepared to invest, so we might aswell jump on board and fall in line behind them. In fact any prospective investor may be put off if they thing we are rowing in different directions and that they are likely to be blamed for any future failings.

I'm with the club they offered him a contract they felt he deserved he had a good season but IMO he's been crap the last 2 season so fair play to the club for not jumping in and giving him x amount when they don't think hr deserves it!

Sorry but with Jay Tabb, the club never claimed to offer him a new contract did they in the summer?
King - It seems there was some miscommunication which was manipulated by the the agent, the club seemed to think they were waiting for King to return from holiday before finalising the offer and King seemed to think they were sending it over to him on holiday to sign. Who is the middle man is this, the agent. I think he pulled a fast one
And Gunnarson he was offered a contract he rejected it 2 days ago and is now waiting on an improved offer. Whilst the club always seem to leave it too late to offer contracts they I wouldn't say the "club are pissing about"
