But with speedway and greyhound meets several times a week, revenues could eclipse CCFC revenues. And it wouldnt take a lot of work to rebuild a stand for more hospitality.

I assume you didn't get a GCSE in economics? What a fool.

If it turns out that we have none hope of getting CCFC back then I'm open to something new at my HOME ground.

Whilst I'm also annoyed that CCFC are playing in Northampton, you appear to have confused supporting a sports team with supporting a building.

If SISU carry on the way they are a burger van in a layby on the A46 will have revenues that eclipse CCFC revenues.

Joking aside (gallows humour not being that funny) I said a while back that ACL would start to look for other uses for the pitch if we moved out. Looks like they're either calling Joys bluff or serious about protecting their business.

its not rocket science that they will look for something to fill the void.
non story and not really our concern unless Sisu plan to sell up soon !!!!

Clearly ACL now HAVE to look to other avenues in order to protect their business. Having said that I believe that they will leave the pitch in situ for another year or so in order to see whether Shitzu fall on their arse in this stupid move to Northampton. I am certainly hoping for the lowest Division 1 gate ever on Saturday. Anything other than that will be claimed by Fishface as a success and I could not stand his gloating!

I consider myself to be liberal minded but he does have a point, if grown men want to grope each other they don't need a ball and it should be done in the comfort of their own home.

Yes...groping the opposition in Rugby is bang out of order! Especially when in Footy you can just run-up, dive on top of your teammate & plant a smacker full on the lips,eh?

How about a bit of pre-grope eyeing up of the opposition?

Let's hope the plan succeeds, I bet a franchise club are begging to pay a high rent for very little return. Welcome to the world of Coventry City Council.

Do be under any misunderstanding if sisu got control of the Ricoh they would have another team, probably rugby, there too.

I doubt Cov RFC would have any intention of moving to the Ricoh. They've got a tight operation going at the Butts - just about perfect I'd say. More to the point, I don't think they'd want to be involved with all of the ACL/SISU arseholery.

As for comparing rugby players to footy players, c'mon. The kind of diving and rolling around that goes on in football would get laughed off off the pitch at the BPA (Butts Park Arena). I love football, genuinely love the game - especially to play. But professional football is just embarassing these days. No surprise that Mick Curtis, one of George's sons, decided to go down the oval ball route instead...

There is so much potential for the Ricoh, the things they might want to may have nothing to do with the playing area? Or they may just offer the playing area to a local none league side say twice a season, lots of things available, with or without City playing there.

I used to play for the rugby league side cov bears, and they are intending to go semi pro next year, however, even the top rugby league sides in britain would struggle to fill a 32,000 seater! And rugby league just isnt as popular in the south and midlands of england as it is up north. They are better suited to the BPA, same as the union team. Im not saying it couldnt happen, but itd take a long time to generate the interest to get good gates to either the union or the league teams.
With a wealthy backer the league team is more likely as the rfl love the franchise idea.

I would love to see a team willingly move to the ricoh. The thread about london wasps moving to the ricoh isnt the same as ccfc having to move to sixfields, because id assume theyd have full backing of the majority of fans.
Top class rugby in cov would be. A dream for me

Apply SISU logic in reverse.
ACL having a sport taking place in their stadium even with just 2000 is better than no sport & an empty stadium.

I thought we wanted to see CCFC back in the Ricoh,
I don't think there should be any sympathy for ACL trying to fill it with anything else -
just to make money!

I'm hoping that a poor attendance on Sunday at Northampton will be tipping point for SISU.
It could force them over the edge, but how we pick up the pieces I don't know.
I just wish fans would hold off for 1 match to force the point more strongly.
one game! Fisher and co are prepared for three maybe four games with low attendance? They are banking on the CCFC fans cracking and going to the Sickfields

If ACL are now looking for another sport to fill the stadium why the hell did the ACL board turn down Wasps rugby club when the previous ACL, CEO had a deal on the table ready to sign for them to move to the Ricoh and ground share with CCFC!?? The ACL board are so short sighted, they could have avoided this disaster if they had a joined up strategy! Muppets

Why would Wasps want to play in Coventry? They are a London based club now playing at High Wycombe.:thinking about:
