Good point, today's statement shows what can be on offer to a potential genuine owner who as the fans behind them .

Still waiting for you to answer how ratepayers personally benefit from ACL being profitable.

Yes I am a Trust member and no its not the Trusts view only mine.
The Ricoh is now part of Coventry it brings in work, recognition, conferences, exhibitions, jobs and business to the City, a City I am proud of.

You said it helps the ratepayers - it doesn't actually contribute to their personal income in anyway does it. Has the average lifestyle improved since being built? Has the view of coventry changed to outsiders since opening?Jobs on a permenantly bases are few and also I doubt many live in the city.

It's sole interest to everyone here has to be the football club. If people value it for any other purpose say goodbye to the club.

You sound like you don't want it sold to the club at all. Better off playing in Northampton then I guess.

It may have been suggested before, but shouldn't all those who support Team ACL set up their own forum rather than posting on one for Coventry City FC. Or in the interests of harmony give them their own section within this forum?

Team acl, sound like a teenage girl talking about twilight.

Everybody is here because they support ccfc.

There is a touch of the high and mighty about all this. If a few hundred people want to go and watch a game of football let them. Will make no odds. For me the club is temporarily disbanded until it returns to Coventry. I have no real interest. The reason I started supporting them was because they were my local team. Not Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal.

It was hard enough leaving HR and still relating, leaving the city, meh

Totally agree, i actually feel a bit sorry for the those who are going to Northampton tomorrow, I can just see Timmy giggling away in his box saying 'look at those fools, I told you they would come'

BOX! WHAT BOX! Shitfields dont have any boxes - perhaps the whole experience might bring that twat to his senses!
Note to TF JS Take 2 very large cardboard boxes today - line them up on the touchline then you can sit inside and pretend your at the Rioch! Oh and BTW dont forget to take a couple of cushsions because I hear the ground might be a little uncomfortable today!

I certainly hope so but it is difficult to believe that sometimes when there is talk of liquidation and phoenix clubs. I don't think that was bitchy? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Yup likewise.

It's all about connection, and I have less and less.

Players increasingly out of touch, apologising for sex offenders' misdemeanours and instead seeing a chance to get a decent player cheap, and now this where one business with a remit to make a profit faces up to another business... with a remit to make a profit, while people talk about property development opportunities for the future.

But nobody talks about the football, or the club as club rather than investment opportunity.

Coincidentally I am quite excited in a 'teenage girl talking about twilight' to find out how we are playing and if there's been any progression since last season in one or two players. PUSB

We (ratepayers) might get back some of that £14m bail out money if the twonks at ACL actually ever make enough to pay it back!

The council bought the mortgage from Yorkshire Bank and remortgaged to ACL at a preferable rate. This will still see a healthy return on the investment for the rate payers of Coventry and provide them with an excellent facility in the Ricoh Arena. It also meant they could offer SISU reduced rent. But as always SISU walked away and have chosen a more expensive route. In reply to Grendel.

Other than curiosity plus the odd trainspotter wanting to claim "I was there when the lowest ever crowd watched the City" and maybe the odd programme collector - I dont think anyone really wants to go to Shitfields - let just see how many turn up on a Weds night in November! Today will be a one off for many I think.

Three ex players this morning, Marcus Hall on Cwr, Micky Quinn and Darren Huckerby on Talksport all saying we are right to boycott.

However if we get a tasty cup draw on 4 Jan, things may be different.

a tasty 1st round cup draw...who do you expect? Forest green rovers!!!
Big clubs do not come into it until 3rd round...sisu squad is unlikely to get that far

a appeciate that...just stating the fact it is highly unlikely we will a) get as far as the 3rd round and b) would pull a major side.

I dearly wish we could ( wouldnt go Northampton tho) , but it is highly unlikely.

@piglet - no I hate having to do it. Though coming down from Sheffield doesn't make too much difference to travelling times.

@cityfan - I agree it's highly unlikely, but it can't be a fact if it hasn't happened yet. Sorry to be picky.

You don't hate it at all....I hate coldplay..so I didn't see them @ the Ricoh.
You prefer the Ricoh..but sixfields will do.

To be honest I 'really' hate Ricoh. nice facilities but a soulless shed.
Will you be able to tell me what to have for dinner this evening as well? I was thinking of having a pie but maybe you'd could tell me what I should have.

Well sixfields will have plenty of soles....arseholes!!

Why not go to Frankie & Bennys.,...there is one opposite the stadium..or a KFC..it's all there at Northampton.!!

Sorry the Ricoh was not good enough for you..... Have a pie..lets hope it's Humble when you wake up!!

I'd politely suggest both 'sides' are so busy trying to score cheap points off each other, the very thought of organising a joined up protest has gone over everybody's heads and the chance has been lost.

There are not 'sides'. There are the justified and righteous and the plain brainwashed !!

What sort of atmosphere are you expecting at a 15% full sixfields?
