Who's the best Graham we ever had?

I'll kick it off with.....Graham Oakey (Graham Oakey, la la la la la....) :D

Oakey was a fabulous attacking full back.

Used to love watching him play.

So sad that his career was ended so early.

Can't remember many other Grahams - Graham Withey in Bobby Gould's first season.

Does Bobby Graham count?

Was going to suggest him, but was scared somebody would take me seriously!

Graham Roger deserves a mention for a cup winners' medal of course :)

Edit - as he has had!

Agree - Oakey looked destined to be a great player.

I'll let you have Bobby Graham, as I'm struggling to remember many myself (just liked the thread title to be honest!) ;)

I was at Villa Park that day - wasn't it a Boxing Day game?

Was Murcott the keeper who was dragged out of the stands when Jim Blyth's back went in the warm up before we played Norwich (?).

I think we won and he kept a clean sheet - but my memory ain't what it used to be...

I would have mentioned the fish and chips, but I don't like to show off.....

To be honest (cos it was a lie about not liking to show off), I remembered reading that he was in one of the bars in the Main Stand having a coke when he got the call - having played for the youth team that morning. But I'm not arguing historic facts with you!

Talbot Solaras after his time, but does remind me of the Harry Roberts story about how he won one for being player of the season... then they promptly signed a sponsorship deal the next week and all the rest of the squad got a Talbot Solara as part of it...

But at a higher spec than his!

Was Harry really player of the season.
