Hopefully they are learning from their mistakes by not doing it before, and return to their rightful home there would be 10,000 tickets sold for the first game......

It is desperate though, especially in not mentioning the venue. They also do this on local radio, again with no mention of the address. Now obviously pretty much everyone in Cov at the moment will know this and resent it but what about the upcoming uptake of tens of thousands of new students in September and other visitors to the City. It's typical SISU incompetence and with a small measure of triumph and spite thrown in. 'We are Coventry' FFS, what a bunch of wankers !!

Marketing has been much improved under Fisher IMO. We actually have a strategy for a change. It's still very safe and uninspired but better than the nothing that preceded it.

I've seen similar ads before, but I imagine they'll step them up.

Serious question: how much do those ads cost? I cant imagine it bringing in more than 10-20 paying customers.

Omitting killer details is certainly sneaky and counter-productive as you mention; if they want to catch out people who aren't aware we're in Northampton, those people will never get to a game in the first place.

Not sure about desperate though, the club really should be marketing itself more regularly in this manner (I'd echo the points in shmmee's post above). When everything was relatively rosy and we played at the Ricoh, there was very little publicising or attempts to attract casual fans, it was like you had to seek out the club rather than the other way round. They're doing what they should have been doing the whole time now, it's just a shame it coincides with such a mountain of shit.

A half page ad in the motors section costs £500 + the vodka a tonic if that helps, got to be upward of £1200 so 4 season tickets at Sisufields

I think people may well give in but lets be honest City fans are fairly fickle anyway so after they've trecked down the M1 to another county, paid to get in to a League 2 ground and all the facilities that accompany that, then the pressure is on for an amazing team performance. Even those who can't help themselves and attend though are unlikely to become regulars. They can advertise all they like but its doomed to failure unless we're in the top 6 by November.

They obviously knew they were on to a loser going to Sexfields as it would appear that no season ticket holders have been rallied to support the move.

It's all very "take it or leave it" a completely arrogant stance, an attitude that a club with a massive following may adopt if they had people queing up for tickets and we hardly fit that description!

It is just another total disregard / disrespect for existing long term customers (I'm not saying that you have to have a season ticket to qualify as a "committed fan" but that group are probably the only supporters who the club have details for)?

Do not understand there marketing strategy as a full page in the telegraph costs a fortune but they could not pick up the phone to me and colleagues who for 4 years at the Ricoh had a 12 seat hospitality box and for the rest Premier seats and spent a fortune with all the add on's etc - would not go anyway but that is besides the point never got asked

As an aside, Coventry has over 50,000 university students & Northampton has about 13,000, spot the better area to have a football club to attract student trade!
