Were they all City fans or are the locals coming to watch the new Entertainers?

I think there will be a few Northampton people (not necessary NTFC fans) that may watch us casually.

We play in a league higher than NTFC and have cheaper ticket prices.

Doubt they've given any tickets away, there was no significant change in attendance since the last game.

There was 500 more than the last game I believe if this is correct it relates to around a 50% increase isn't it, if so quite significant, although, I'll never be there!!

Plot twist: his mate is Joy Seppala.

OT: Am I alone in expecting a bigger jump considering the weather, our form, and the less appealing game at the Ricoh.

Judging by the queue outside the ticket office before the game, they were all city fans. Thirty minutes to get tickets.

Yes, I went. Shoot me.

Saying that because people in the queue were City fans or because there was a queue.

What was the atmosphere like? Did you talk to Fisher? Any banners at thr game?

Just surprised, given the amount of people there, that there was such a wait for tickets. But everyone in the queue were city fans and they were all paying so I doubt the increase has anything to do with freebies.

I enjoyed it I have to say. Atmosphere was to be expected given the size of the crowd, but it was lively enough. It's interesting how I recognised so many people, the same faces that have I have seen following City away from home in the last 20 years. Some odd stories too, like people who had hitch-hiked to get there. I did sense it was a much more positive atmosphere than I'm used too. A sense that we're all in this together. Also, there wasn't much anti SISU sentiment at all - any wrath was aimed at the council - certainly during conversations in the pub beforehand.

Will I get a season ticket? No, but I'll go back. It felt like my football club today, despite everything, but more importantly it felt like COVENTRY City. If I genuinely felt that we would never come back I would not go, but I do not believe that, and while that remains the case I will follow them.

I went today for the first time. No free ticket. Didn't see one person I recognized from the Cobblers and that's the truth.

I agree ferret my first game there as well , a lot of faces you see at away matches and the pre season friendlies..basically people who don't give a damn about the politics and will follow the team wherever they play

Cheers, was saying on another thread Shrewsbury will be interesting as the stay aways will be there in force.

Not going to get into the politics, but if it's mostly anti-council types going, we're fucked. If we're going to survive they'll need to convince the majority too.

You could play in the north pole and there would be die hards trekking across the tundra to get there

If we keep playing this style of exciting & entertaining football, you soon won't be able to get a ticket IMHO!

Your right if all fans wanted to come we couldn't get in.
If we start doing well we will get 32000.
Oh and don't forget the Northampton fans who are starting to get interested.

Really, where were the other 10,000 Cov fans then?? the ones who wont go there, like the ones on the march to keep Cov in Cov.
Youre all in it together to give them 2 fingers, and the legends and the city of Coventry.

Oh come on, you know what I mean, I am referring to those that were there, not those who were not. You might reasonably ask where are the other 20,000 fans when we play in front of 10,000. I was just asked about my thoughts and observations about today and so I gave an honest response. I guess the name calling has started in earnest now though (not you specifically).

I was on the march by the way, everyone wants to see CCFC back in Coventry. How do we achieve that is the question. I just disagree with you as to how that is achieved.

The only place I've heard about them giving free tickets to locals is on here

agreed, after reading the other free ticket threads i rang a mate who has lived and worked in Northampton all his life, he's asked all his friends, family and everyone at his place of work and hasn't found 1 local who has either been given/offered free tickets or who knows of anyone that has.

its not conclusive i know but like you say the only place I've heard off it is on here.

he has promised to let me know if he hears anything different though

Ill be honest I want to know how many so we can judge attendance properly, but if they're not giving any away when they've just opened up a whole demographic then that's just terrible marketing.

To be honest if you were SISU you would want to keep this quiet. Plus if I was given a free ticket I would also keep it quiet. If I was from Northampton and went to watch CCFC I would not breath a word about it.
