Just a quick one to point out. Think waggott has done a great job since he has came in..
Brought in robins and pressley both did/doing good jobs
Helped bring in some good players
Cut the wage bill by helping get rid of dead wood.
Kept the younger players

Just seen his comments today about we can now look to extend the deals of the younger players. Which can only be good news as many mistakes have been made in the past with contracts, i.e jay tabb when he was arguably one of our best players at the time..

A lot better then the others involved with the club ...

What are others thoughts?

I think Waggott has done very well since he came in, recruited Robins and Pressley as well as aiding in the signings of players such as McGoldrick, Clarke, Moussa, Adams, Fleck etc. Did well to keep all our players in this window too.

I like him, and he has done well, he seems to try and distance himself from the SISU/ACL bolloxs - he needs to lose that ridiculous goaty beard...

Yep. I like the cut of his jib. Whatever our long term solution, I hope he remains part of it. I imagine he would do a great job in a well run, organised club. Seems to have good relationships with managers too. Suggests he may not be as economical with the truth as some of his colleagues......

Yep, gets tied in unfairly with Fisher.

Waggott is part of the footballing side, which at the moment is performing above expectations, while Fisher is part of the frankly farcical non-footballing side.

Presumely it's a partnership with the manager where it seems good since Robins and now SP era. All incoming players in the last 12 months have been pretty good at this level. There was one loan that did not work out.

Agree with all the positive comments on Steve Waggott.
He seems to work behind the scenes just getting on with his job. Plus he sounds like a Geordie, so he must be alright.
Dismayed to see him get in the car with Fisher at Shrewsbury on Saturday. And another bloke who looked very much like Appleton. But I could be wrong about that.
They parked right beside us.

When he was the guest speaker at one of our open meetings he was genuine and very honest. Through England games I've spoken to quite a few Charlton fans. Most respect Waggott and say he did the best he could. As for Fisher, that's a different story.

I think this is more important than another signing at the moment.

I'd be happy if we brought in one more midfielder and a centre back and spent the rest on extending/improving the contracts of the likes of Wilson and Christie, both if whom I think are out of contract at the end of the season.

I think that the quiet man in the background Steve Waggott deserves major credit in the way he has got on with his job under circumstances that many would break under the strain, and he has also shown tremendous loyalty by sticking with us when obviously there would be a queue of clubs if he was looking for pastures new it is clear he is very talented in spotting good player's, particularly young players. He comes across as a bloke that just gets on with it and stays focused no matter the upheaval lesser people would have walked by now, but I think he is shrewd and long term, he knows that things will change for the better which should give all confidence
It seems his view irrelevant who he works for and if he likes them or not the club long-term is more impotent, and I would not be surprised if he was prominent in keeping all of our players whom we thought we might lose in the transfer window. I think the club panicked a little bit when he was unsettled a few months ago as he papers over a lot of cracks

I have spoken to someone employed at the club and he/she tells me Waggott is the biggest arsehole he/she has come across, runs with the hare, hunts with the hounds, picks his moment to speak carefully and has the knack of saying what people like to hear. Also says Waggott is right there with friend Fisher in decisions and plays the nice guy to suit. Has to go with Fisher.

Has to go with Fisher....because your mate says so? Everything you've said is one person's subjective opinion about him as a person. If he's doing the right thing by CCFC as per his job role, which the evidence suggests he is, I couldn't care less if he's an arsehole behind closed doors

Waggott is well respected by players and staff alike at the club as of course he brought most of them there and has been around football clubs many years and is also a realist as things could change in an instance and a new boss could walk in the door any moment - I do not believe he is Tim Fishers mate i believe he is a professional doing his job and not letting personal feelings get in the way the same as Pressley etc as they have to or they will not survive at any club and many clubs have board officials that are not popular

Yes they both are which is worrying i cant see christie staying to be honest
wilson on the other hand he could of easily been released after a injury hit season last year, and club was good to give him another year .. He is paying back that faith mind you.

Reading between the lines of what Pressley says in today's paper....
It sounds like his gut feeling is; Wilson will sign a new deal, but Leon Clarke and Christie will see their contracts out to play at a higher level

Leave SW alone! He has done excellent since coming here, unlike the clowns before, who let contracts run down & release players for no fees!
Where's the logic? Unless it creates more debt to be flushed in true Sisu style?
Like his cautious approch, giving players a trial to see if they fit into the CCFC model, cos even Ronaldo could fail at City.
Also love or hate Fisher, see his logic, own our own stadium, increase revenue, buy better players from profits & move up the leagues.
Happy they got rid of expensive flops like Sheff!
But ultimate thanks go to Joy!
Probably doesn't know much about footy but invests in our club :)
Unless it's to flush all her debts through our club???
