Hi lads, I have just joined so I am popping the proverbial cherry. According to football rumours we are taking Barry Bannon from the claret and blues down the road and Roman Bentdnar from the baggies on trial. Word of caution it also says Gary Mac could be rejoining in a coaching capacity? I hope AT gets a fair run who ever holds the power reigns at the Ricoh, my sons have been season ticket holders for 4 years now and its getting harder to get them to go back the eldest thinks its some kind of punishment for missbehaving.

Who ever owns the club please provide my boys with a team they can be proud of and be passionate about, I am sick of being asked for Arsenal and Chelsea shirts!

Zero chance imo but ta for heads up regardless. Barry Bannan was highly thought of at Blackpool when on loan and still is at Villa from what I understand. The fans love him too (sing we don't need Barry we've got Barry Bannan to tune of It aint what you do). I saw him last season for them and he looked promising. I know they have a new manager so maybe a possibility of a season long loan if AM sees him as only fringe as I think he would fit well into the diamond. In fact Villa have a few decent youngsters I wouldn't mind borrowing.

Bednar is maybe a possible-he's a neat replacement for King in that he keeps up our reputation as a club that reforms societies rejects. Plus he was linked with us in the past, and I'm pretty sure Thorn has scouted him in the past. Scored plenty of goals at our level, could be a bargain if we can keep him off the drugs...

Bannan I'd say no chance. Again, I think he's known to be a bit naughty off the pitch. And he's a hobbitt in physical stature. But boy, can he play! Anyone remember that goal against us for Blackpool? Cut inside from the wing, a couple of shimmies to leave defenders on their arses, a drop of the shoulder, and curled it in the top corner with power from 25 yards. It's one of the best goals I've ever seen at The Ricoh, so good you just had to accept and admire it. I even begrudgingly texted my Villa supporting mate to let him know they have a player on their hands.
