So your suggestion is that if they (Otium) don't want talks then they don't want to return to Coventry? Didn't Joy Seppala say in the interview with Nikki Sinclaire that they would be willing to talk with the Council?
nikki sinclaire seems to have gone into hiding with joy diversion too.

And Joy is renowned for telling the truth. Ask the last two judges she has come against.

Why would she lie? "Oh we aren't going to move Coventry back we will move them to Northampton?" What benefits would there be to move there? Can't think of any..

that's must be why she replied to Ann Lucas so quickly about her invitation to talk (both times). oh wait she hasn't. must still be sorting out the shirt sponsor and site for the ground that was going to be sorted in 2weeks.

Why, the end s called Jimmy's End and the hill behind it has been adopted to Jimmy's Hill. I think he would be very proud of us naming it after him.

Because Sixfields is not in Coventry, We are playing in Northampton, far away home, why should we then start to acknowledge parts of Sixfields/Northampton as any part of our history especially referring parts of the ground to a man who is known as Mr Coventry..

It is part of the strategy to distress ACL, they want to buy the Arena for very little. Obvious to most by now surely?

Some can't get their heads around that. SISU's attempts to distress ACL and acquire an asset which they didn't pay a penny for are totally obvious and deplorable.

This is the only reason why they would take the Council to court over their loan.

If anyone has another reason then I'd love to hear it.

Everyone keeps saying distress however as one councillor said that the Arena was ailing business even with CCFC as tenants..

Now I am not saying that by withholding the rent was a correct action by SISU, however people are saying the word "Distress" if it is true what some have been saying ACL has been in a bad position for a while now.

The Ricoh Arena is a failing business with or without CCFC.

Rob. Stop for a second and try to explain why they are suing the Council for taking on the mortgage.

Go for it.

I know why, because there is much less of a chance that things will go tits up with the Council taking it on, while giving ACL a reasonable agreement on the repayments.

It doesn't change the fact that the Arena is still consider an ailing business with or without CCFC. There is a meeting in place now to determine the viability of the Arena business, what if it is determined not to be viable to the council no longer, a sale? To whom?

A failing business that made over £1m profit last year? Take out the rent and associated costs of putting on matches and its breaking even.

It will need to diversify if the club never returns, but cashflow wise it's secure for the time being. As income is reduced I imagine overheads will be too. It will have to make savings.

Football clubs are fine examples of failing businesses. Ones that used to have crowds of 21000 but relocate to towns away from its name and now see attendances of around 1,800 are perhaps the finest examples out there of a failing business...

But even more likely to fail when tenants dont pay bills?

True, however like I have said it was an ailing business before when they were paying the rent, what if they had no tenants under different circumstances? I don't condone the way things were done by SISU but it shouldn't change the fact that if what we are made to believe the cracks appeared before then..

I hope you're right, the only worry I have is that not having the football club will have a bigger knock-on effect than simply the income football contributed.

I can see major sponsors of the Arena walking away, and Compass etc saying no thanks, there are far fewer punters.

I bet it has hit the Casino hard.

Councillors want to examine claims there is a viable way forward for the stadium.

ACL will go before the finance and corporate services scrutiny board on November 25.

Labour councillor Tony Skipper said on Facebook: “It was decided that serious scrutiny of ACL by Coventry councillors was overdue.

“My view is that football or no football, not enough is happening at the Ricoh Arena.

“This is no secret and in keeping with it the decision has my full support.”

We all best hope that ACL is financially secure. If it is they can afford to wait before taking any drastic action regarding use for the pitch area.

If they are struggling, then they will have to do something quick with it, which will kill any prospect of Coventry City ever playing in Coventry again.

Would the council be prepared to fund out more costs to change the Arena, Roof, Pitch Modifications, etc? Without any guarantee that it will prove to be successful?

Can I just ask though; do you WANT SISU to own the Ricoh?

I really don't. I don't trust them to own it, they can't be trusted.

Lets take a step back,
City in the championship before the rent dispute was public. Poor old Andy Thorne gets his squad stripped...we have to cut costs. Everyone was sympathetic but we knew it would end in relegation.

Then in league 1 fisher threatens liquidation we are still losing money. administration......Sisu put themselves in to it in the end and wrote a load of debt off where it suit and created debt where it suited..buy themselves with a partially liquidated company with no funds...then SISU funds kick in
1 we can sue the Football League
2 we can sue CCC
3. We can afford to move to Northampton
4. We can sustain the losses for many year
5. The Football league have seen the funds

We are in league1 because SISU put us there, not ACL or CCC!

Why? To reduce admin costs while they followed a deliberate stratergy to distress ACL....aim Ricoh on the cheap!

If people cannot see the stratergy, understand it, read between the lines of SISU propoganda.....you really are thick and have no understanding of business.

They have shrunk the overheads and beefed up the revenue streams to themselves....they are NOT loosing as much money as you think....they are treading water.

I think the way both sides have acted now means that neither can back down.

It would be a PR disaster for the Council if ACL now goes under. I think they will back ACL to the hilt.

Also Higgs can now potentially sell their half off to a private company, a company which might have plans to dramatically alter the Ricoh. (Not saying that will happen, just putting the idea out there)

I have maintained the same stance for ages.. I want the Football Club and the Arena to be united under the same ownership, now I would prefer that be Haskell or perhaps a Byng consortium however if it has to be SISU then so be it, it has to be done to ensure the clubs future.
