'Jimmy's Hill' protests having the desired effect! (4 Viewers)

I have maintained the same stance for ages.. I want the Football Club and the Arena to be united under the same ownership, now I would prefer that be Haskell or perhaps a Byng consortium however if it has to be SISU then so be it, it has to be done to ensure the clubs future.

That's fair enough. I've taken SISU's disgusting business strategy personally and want to see them gone. I would find it hard to return under them, even if it was back at the Ricoh.

I haven't knocked I have just said the aim is surely to get us back to coventry?

I think I am going to join them on the Hill Next home game. I couldn't care less about sixfields. Never been there but I am going to go up that bloody hill next time. A crowd of 2000 on the hill is going to have a massive impact. Surely that is the target now. Show that live on TV and we may even get some interest from other club fans as well.

I think the way both sides have acted now means that neither can back down.

It would be a PR disaster for the Council if ACL now goes under. I think they will back ACL to the hilt.

Also Higgs can now potentially sell their half off to a private company, a company which might have plans to dramatically alter the Ricoh. (Not saying that will happen, just putting the idea out there)

Exactly and SISU have already said they are willing to build a new stadium, now I am not saying they will but it shows their intent is there if two years into the five CCC end up selling the Arena you can expect SISU to get it.

If he was able Jimmy Hill would be on the hill with those wonderful loyal fans, fighting the cause.
Nick, for a guy who put up a CCFC fan's forum you are remarkably a sit on the fence, pour cold water on any fan initiative kind of bloke. Forget the objective stance, the club is fighting for its existence and you are so lukewarm it so depressing.
Robbo, well you would tell us day was night. You defend the undefendable at every turn.

I respect that however if this ends up being a waiting game that these two parties play next SISU will win..

It's genuinely not a case of the defending the indefensible I am just stating that things are stacking up and this battle will go to the wire, SISU will win it if it does..

And just what will Sisu 'win' Robbo?
A club with no fans.
You are truly one total defeatist.

SISU will pick up the Arena either really cheap or on at a knocked down price, there maybe no and but if they get us back to Coventry and we win promotion expect people to return to the Arena under SISU ownership..

I just think they would be aware of that, and would only sell to someone with no connections to Sisu at all.

Who knows what will happen.

I guess it will come down to two things. Who has the most money, and willingness to keep spending it.

The Council will have far greater financial resources at their disposal over Sisu, however just how much of this can be used is dependant on how it plays out with the electorate.

Why will they win have lost 90% of there customers ,95% of there sponsors 98% of trust from everyone so if they win one big deal only the fans more......

The thing is selling it to Haskell for example, it has been rumoured for 4-6 weeks, yet nothing has happened.

I wouldn't speculate regarding who has the money to throw at it, but with regards to SISU there so sneaky and so underhanded it wouldn't surprise me if they found away.

Yep, if it comes down to who has deeper pockets then unfortunately it'll be SISU.

I just wish they'd write this off as a bad investment, but Sepalla is too stubborn for that. I can't put up with years more of SISU; I'd rather we went though all the hurt and got rid of them; even if it did mean another relegation. Anything to get rid.

We all want that.

However we are all hoping for something that at this moment won't happen.

They'll have there hands on the Arena I just hope if they do get there hands on it, they sell the whole club as they're more likely for a potential investor to meet there valuation.

Robo "I'm not saying they will build a stadium but it shows their intent"......hahaha you should be an MP what a contradiction within the same sentence....they have not shown any intent....they have shown the Football League Funds?..to build a stadium or to enter lengthy litigation with them? Football League sat back on the fence.
Robo open your eyes by reading some economics.
Robo I am in dialogue with the FL over their rules...they can't even evidence them to me let alone SISU. But more of that later.

Robo SiSU threatened to challenge the FL over the difference between their rules and company law. The FL ran a mile.

People on here zoom in on gravy and overlook the meat of the argument!

Sisu are finished here. Its over. The city and vast majority of people of Coventry have no trust in them.

As to the fellas on the hill I had my doubts but WELL DONE, it did have an impact today and can have a good impact to the televised game to publicise our cause.

I don't know whether my comparison to an MP is worthy of gratitude..

I have tried reading both sides of the argument however things are muddier than before IMO.

Let me try to recalibrate you.. on another thread Grendel wrote:

I just cannot get passed that and try as those with a SISU empathy might, they will not convince me of any other.
SISU have had a plan to acquire the Ricoh as cheap as possible from the get go- my opinion I accept- but as this unravels, and the acceptance as found above by Grendel and others that it's either ACL out via distress tactics or curtains for CCFC reinforces my opinion further still. SISU have played Russian Roulette with my football club in an effort to secure their own financial gain; what else would a hedge fund do I hear you cry? - you are right, I like many others perhaps have been naive- but its an emotional drawn failing based on my life long love of CCFC. They have exploited that human failing to this point and continue to do so with the ludicrous move to Northampton when there IS an alternative.

Yes I accept that ACL etal have had a part to play in this sorry affair.. but to once again to paraphrase Orwell.... "both sides are to blame, but some are more to blame than others".. and for me that is SISU. They will never have my support

Lets take a step back,
City in the championship before the rent dispute was public. Poor old Andy Thorne gets his squad stripped...we have to cut costs. Everyone was sympathetic but we knew it would end in relegation.

Then in league 1 fisher threatens liquidation we are still losing money. administration......Sisu put themselves in to it in the end and wrote a load of debt off where it suit and created debt where it suited..buy themselves with a partially liquidated company with no funds...then SISU funds kick in
1 we can sue the Football League
2 we can sue CCC
3. We can afford to move to Northampton
4. We can sustain the losses for many year
5. The Football league have seen the funds

We are in league1 because SISU put us there, not ACL or CCC!

Why? To reduce admin costs while they followed a deliberate stratergy to distress ACL....aim Ricoh on the cheap!

If people cannot see the stratergy, understand it, read between the lines of SISU propoganda.....you really are thick and have no understanding of business.

They have shrunk the overheads and beefed up the revenue streams to themselves....they are NOT loosing as much money as you think....they are treading water.

Joy "I am only interested in my family and my investors" feeling the lov Sky Blues Fans?

Sorry to repost but non replies from SISU apologists!

Because Sixfields is not in Coventry, We are playing in Northampton, far away home, why should we then start to acknowledge parts of Sixfields/Northampton as any part of our history especially referring parts of the ground to a man who is known as Mr Coventry..

It's called "Poetic Licence" you fuckwit! Some examples for you.........
Trafalgar Square, London. Trafalgar is not in London
Bull Ring, Birmingham. No Bull fighting stadium there. :thinking about:
Cleopatra's Needle, London. She was from Egypt.
.......and there's hundreds more.

Why, after a day of such positivity on and off the pitch, do you and Nick pursue such a pedantic and probably inaccurate line of reasoning?

Coventry off bottom after beating Colchester but fans anger continues

In normal times a big city football club fielding an attractive, free-scoring team featuring a number of young, locally-born players would not expect to be watched by the lowest home crowd in the club's 94 years in the Football League.

But these are anything but normal times for Coventry City. This was the third match the Sky Blues have, ludicrously, hosted 30 miles down the road at Northampton Town, and outstandingly well though they are playing, the boycott of the arrangement by the club's supporters is holding very firm.

For the record, and a sorry record it is, the crowd for the first game, against Bristol City, was 2,204, the second, against Preston, 2,068. The attendance this time round was 1,789, "beating" the 2,059 who came to Highfield Road to watch City draw 1-1 with Crystal Palace in Division Three (South). "Thank you for your continued support", said the man on the Tannoy, with rather less irony than the cheer that greeted his announcement.

Up on the hill behind the north stand – nicknamed Jimmy's Hill for the occasion, in affectionate tribute to City's former chairman whose statue stands outside the club's former home, the Ricoh Arena – a group of perhaps 60 City fans looked on.

Most were members of The Not One Penny More group, whose aim is to force Sisu, the company which despite taking the club into administration, League One and Northampton, somehow remains in control of its destiny, to give up by starving it of income.

It may be a long job. The club's chief executive, Tim Fisher, recently told the local paper Sisu would absorb any losses while the club plays in Northampton, and in the meantime, having apparently ruled out any further attempt to negotiate a return to the Ricoh, build a new stadium in the Coventry area. Three to five years is the estimated timescale, which seems optimistic.

While the circumstances in which the City manager, Steven Pressley, finds himself working to overcome the handicap of the 10-point deduction with which they started the season are less than ideal, the quality of his squad is such promotion remains perfectly feasible. As Pressley acknowledged, they ripped Colchester to pieces.

Coming into this match having scored 18 goals in their six previous games, City should have increased that tally by at least three before the 30-minute mark. That they did not was down to a couple of smart saves from the Colchester goalkeeper Sam Walker – from Leon Clarke and Callum Wilson – and Clarke's own profligacy. In between hitting the foot of Walker's left-hand post from close range, and the top of his bar with an angled drive, the 28-year-old striker also contrived to head a Carl Baker cross wide from the six-yard line.

At the other end Alex Gilbey put a header and then a half-volley over the bar, but the Essex side were increasingly hanging on and duly went behind six minutes before half-time. Blair Adams, advancing from full-back, fired in a low drive which Walker could only parry, and the ball was turned across the line by Wilson, a seventh goal in seven appearances this season for the 21-year-old local boy – local, that is, to Coventry.

The striker confirmed his position at the top of the League One goalscorers list on the hour mark, combining with Clarke before rounding Walker and slotting the ball into the empty net. The win lifted them off the bottom of the table and to within nine points of the play-offs but Pressley expects the supporter boycott to continue. "We understand the situation, and I think regardless how well we play the supporters will not come and watch until we are back in Coventry, which is after all what everyone wants."

He said that fending off transfer window interest in the likes of Wilson, Clarke and Cyrus Christie had been vital. "It was the most important thing for me, and none of our players will be allowed to go out on loan either. Nor will we be selling in January. It's important to be off the bottom and making progress but we've achieved nothing."

Whether those decisions remain in his hands remains to be seen, because off the field City are far from out of the woods. On it, positivity abounds – albeit that not many are watching.

I'm in a bit of a dilemma here my oldest boy who is 7 next week and he is adament he supports cov, and I promised that I would take him to his first game when he is 7 , now I want sisu out and agree with NOPM, but what do I do, ps money is tight so really can't travel !

Its not CCFC, but you could try Nuneaton Town, very friendly & just up the road.

And because it is a small ground a 1,500 attendance (which is what they got Saturday) pretty much fills the ground.

17th(Tues) & 23rd Sept is their next 2 home games.

A sense of irony perhaps Robo?
In other posts you put the emphasis on ACL to negotiate, why not SISU. You also say its the business practice you expect from a hedgefund; my answer to that is expecting and accepting are two different things.

You seem very reassured and confident about everything Joy says. When Ann Lucas offered to have a meeting (couldn't be better than the council leader to negotiate with) she was busy travelling on business...well set a date for the future then!

The thing is Robo when people call SISU's bluff they twist and turn. So you have to accept we are in Northampton because SISU took us there.

Just like if certain protesters want to refer to a part of Northampton as Jimmy Hills hill you have to accept that too. Just like I have to accept there will be people who believe SISU are trying to build a new stadium, it will solve the clubs problems long term and the club are going in the right direction.

One thing I do know is SISU don't abide to contracts with CCC, don't have regard for FL rules, don't publish accounts on time (more than one SISU company)

The only people who can stand up to them are the fans of this club. The fans who don't want their club to be taken away from them and also don't want it to be associated with owners like SISU however deep their pockets are.

Yeah I think I was about that age when I went to my first away game which may well have been Villa.
