We really have to stop talking about investment, revenue streams, developement opportunities, diversification...

The problem with that kind of talk is it buys into the acceptance that people go into football to make money... and that money certainly isn't going to be made for the benefit of the club!

We need to start talking about the club itself, community, heritage... passion.

That is what our club should be, not an investment opportunity.

Sadly, an investment opportunity is what all football clubs are these days - from the Premier League, down to the Conference and beyond.

We don't have to buy into that though (even the turns of phrase end up about money:facepalm: )

i like your sentiment and there is the problem the community, heritage... passion will always belong to the fans but the commercial assets belong to a hedge fund who are all about investment, revenue streams, developement opportunities, diversification... they dont have time for community, heritage... passion it cost them money and that not what they are about.

Sadly in any situation where large numbers of people show up to an event and hand over predominantly cash there will always be sharks looking to profit, of course football today has gone beyond all that and they even start circling now to capitalise somehow on debt or offload borrowings or charges onto business where there is significant turnover.
In an ideal world the football club would genuinely operate within it's means and aim to break even each year and by that I mean without fingers heavily into the pie along the way.

It's not even about a hedge fund though is it? It's us who demand more investment from owners.

What investment do football fans ask for though? They like to see youth developed. They like astute dealings in the transfer market. They don't mind the sale of a star player if it brings three players in who move the team forward.

I don't recall fans celebrating loads of money being spent on rubbish. I think fans are fairly realistic in their expectation. It is normally owners who inflate the dream

You talk about community, heritage and passion but have no problem accepting a move 35 miles from the City ...

Community, heritage and passion are three things that can only be delivered by or have meaning to supporters. This does not apply to owners, managers or players and all we expect of them is 100% whilsty they are representing us. Sadly our owners are incapable of understaing or even getting close to caring about us and see us as more of an obstacle or inconvenience to their cause of a vehicle in which to bury bad news and bad debts.

More bullshit from you.

Keep saying that, I'll keep saying I do have a problem, and you keep dividing the fans like a prick.

Sadly Football is all about money now and I hate that the Beautiful Game has moved from it's working class roots and been invaded by people who know nothing about our passion as all they care about is money, money, money.
You only have to look at the clowns who have put us in the mess we are now in,they haven't a clue as to what our great club means to us and never will. This will get worse as look at Sheffield United they have just been took over by yet another rich Arab haven't they it's becoming a case of rich business people taking over Football and one day soon it will implode.

Oh a good old fashioned insult when you run out of rational debate. You really are a piece of work.

If me advocating staying out of Northampton makes me a prick then so be it. PM me if you have an issue with me directly and we can sort away from the forum.

I have an issue with you lying like a twat when it's about me. So as you've done that in public you can take it back in public.

It's there, I'd like you to take it back please.

Now.

You say it in public, you retract it in public.

wtf are you on about? If I had the first idea what you're talking about I may even retract it but all I can see is a tirade of pointless abuse!

it shouldn't be about a hedge fund, but it is. they are here, therefore it has a bearing on things.

like i said in a thread yesterday i would kill for our club run like everton with coventry's answer to bill kenwright at the helm. then when you do something wonderful like win the fa cup it becomes something of a dream to be relished not expected as it is with the super teams and their billionair owners who are at the top off the premiership.

I helpfully quoted it for you, denied it and asked for you to retract it.

it's not hard.

Or we can keep going with the lazy pathetic infantile pointless baseless accusations that split people instead of discussing issues.

Your choice.

It doesn't stop the demands being for investment in the club.

Investment is bad, investment expects a return. Clubs shouldn't be to give an individual or group a return, they should be to service and be part of and to lead a community.

I don't want anybody to invest in our club, I want somebody to take it over and want to sort it out, I want them to be our custodian, our benefactor.

Do we still dream of a team of Gary Breens?

I certainly don't and never have. I stand by my original comment I don't recall football fans celebrating loads of money /investment being spent on rubbish.

My recollection is rather different to yours then!

I remember plenty going on about what a damned fine job SISU were doing as they invested in players.

Likewise Robinson's Newmarket scheme...

Maybe you don't, maybe I don't, but there's certainly a large vocal group who demand the team the team the team, and hang the consequences to the club.

If it's the piece about suggesting you accepting a move to sixfields then I may have even retracted it if incorrect, although when I was on here before you were so much of a SISU apologist that I suspected you may even be Tim Fisher. However, it would be better to point out (if this is the piece you're being a little girl about) that it was factually incorrect rather than calling me a "prick" and a "lying twat". Who knows, you may have even got an "oh bad, my mistake sorry" but as it stands you can go fk yerself!

Well if you come up with lazyy unfounded idiotic accusations what do you expect?

Or you can shut up and accept you're wrong.

And keep going with the scab line, it gives you the moral highground.

You really ened to stop flirting with me!

It's nothing to do with moral highground. I know that by not joining the "scabs" I have not contributed to the downfall that affects future generations from enjoying days like I had in 87 or following my team from my city to the far reaches of the country - hell I've even followed them to Northampton but only as an away supporter in the cup!

Sorry but we're playing in Northampton, so the above quote is a pretty pointless topic to talk about right now.

Ask SISU where their passion is?!

But with Joy Seppala saying "the only people I care about is my family and my investors"

SISU taking us to Northampton rather than negotiate.

SISU's lack of transparency, lack of accounts.
Fob offs like the accounts are a bit of a mess...why they have been here 5 years how difficult is it to keep accounts.
Or we have made mistakes....we have alienated the fans!
How many more times do they think we have made mistakes will be acceptable?
