Did anyone watch the Midlands Masters on Saturday? The City squad for the night ended up losing both their games and heading home early. They surrendered a 2-0 lead in the first game against Aston Villa, then were beaten 5-2 by Birmingham in the 2nd game. Aston Villa went on to win the final, beating Wolves on penalties after coming from 2 goals down to draw 2-2 in the match.

Our stand out players were Paul Telfer (Still in as good condition as ever and finished top scorer with 2 goals) and Marcus Hall, however, we missed the spark of creativity in the side.
A few Ex-City players were playing for other teams on the night - Mustapha Hadji (Aston Villa), Colin Cameron (Wolves), Martin Grainger (Birmingham) and Kyle Lightbourne (Walsall).

One final thing, how big is Paul Williams now?! The guy is huge!! :)

to be fair why isnt marcus hall still playing? Could quite easily play for a league 2 team or atleast a conference side?

Was it the defender Paul Williams or the winger? Didn't we also have a White Paul Williams at roughly the same time too?

Not the most gifted of players, but was decent I thought. Used to love how he marshalled the back 4. Strangely enough, the first time I saw him was in a friendly @ Hitchin Town, he played really well and was constantly talking the the defence and midfield. Being that I was a kid then, I really liked him and actually based my game on his, as I was also a central defender.

He was a top defender for a couple of seasons, although I did think he'd have been better as a ball-winning midfielder. Great goal against Newcastle from miles out. I'll never forget that game v Arsenal (league cup?) where Bergkamp kicked his own leg to make it look like a foul and Willo got a red. Cheating b*****d, I always just thought of that whenever the MOTD types are waxing lyrical about his "genius".

He was certainly the best of the 3 Paul Williams's. What's scary with him is he was actually close to that huge size within a year of retiring!

He was massive!!! Saying that, so was Jeff Winter!! I was really suprised by Winters size, considering he's still on the referreeing side of things, albeit, bein a spokesperson and regularly interviewed on referee debates etc, which i dont imagine requires much exercising (probably a good thing!!!).

felt sorry for John Williams, getting injured so early on. i think thats what went wrong for us :)
