We are in danger of having no stadium. If ACL manage to move on we are in trouble.
The Ricoh is our only chance. Sisu plan will be the death of the club as we will have so much debt we will not be able to afford it.

I don't know how they could move on, as there's no sports team big enough to play there, and there'd be some huge building costs to redevelop our part of the arena.

But if they did move on, and SISU liquidated, well then we would see the death of the club.

If SISU start building a stadium, then that's when we form a Phoenix club I think. I can't keep supporting a SISU owned club.

Stop giving ACL ideas, sooner or later they'll realise they have no moral obligation to provide a football pitch to an ungrateful club for a pittance of a rent, and will secure investment to rebuild the area as an undercover exhibition/concert venue. It's almost worth calling ccfc's bluff....

Agree with that. Stadiums like Twickenham, Millenium Stadium, Wembley seem to survive on a few big matches and concerts. When you really think about 25 days in 365 is not a lot.
They could probably double up on concerts, premium rugby games, some under 21 games. Should move up the ladder on availability alone.

I often go to the Casino at the Ricoh and they have some sort of event on most days, either exhibitions, conferences or other meetings. The main car park is never empty except weekends.

i went to see the red hot chilli peppers at the ricoh and have to say its better music venue than Wembley, couldn't say about the millennium but does it need to be a capital city. its pretty much bang in the centre of the country and has good road and rail links, more music concerts is an easy sale i would say, a rugby league cup final, maybe. it is predominately a northern sport so a lot nearer to the fan base for that code of rugby than Wembley with capacity possibly the only sticking point. rugby union, not going to happen unless we get awarded the world cup again at some point, but that's not a banker. under 21's why not, it worked out well in the past.

there is scope out side off CCFC, but clearly it was built with a football team in mind and that is where we should be.

Lets assume the Ricoh will fit a roof to become a fully fledged event arena......

Either you are being deliberatley obtuse, or you still haven't grasped tghe nub of the matter. Floorspace of the pitch(based on NEC price £150 m2) over £1million per event!

Even if you assume just 2 additional events per year, that is double what ccfc were paying in full rent!

If cash flow is such a big issue why are we still playing in Northampton? The cash will be flowing out, not in. So SISU have a football club. Gates are a disaster. It seems that timothy was miles out with his predictions. Are we even covering the fees they take out of our club for ruining....sorry running our club? Then you have sponsorship. This is the first season I can remember that nobody wants to sponsor us. They know that sales could be lost more than gained if anyone sponsored our club. More lost revenue. Shirt sales? So where are these new shirts we have been told about? At least we have seen a picture now....a month into the season. Has the problem been that suppliers don't trust SISU? Other shop sales? We have been reduced to a barrow. The FL told SISU that if they wanted the golden share they had to pay ACL the £560,000 on offer. This seems to be about 75% of a years revenue. And sounds like they haven't paid it yet. Have they got it? Timothy has had to go back to the Higgs trust with his tail between his legs otherwise he would have lost the money for the academy.

So Timothy said they had 10m towards the build of this stadium. So lets say it will be built. It will take at least 5 years as there are no evidence of plans so far. How much of this 10m will be eaten up staying in Northampton? Not looking good is it Grenduffy?

Lets get back to the Ricoh then. They have been able to offer a much reduced rent. From what we have seen it is somewhere between £150,000 and £400,000 a year. Much less than this stadium they want to build. Now the mortgage has been refinanced they don't need it to be the original 1.2m. They have done without rent for 2 years now.....minus the escrow fund. They should soon get £560,000 from SISU. About 2 years rent they were offering. There is also the normal money coming in from events. They will also be able to do more during weekends as our club has been taken away from there. So if anything the income has gone up as SISU were not paying the rent. This is extra income. The outgoings are lower from the mortgage refinancing. Overheads will be lower as less people are needed from the lost match days.

As you say Grenduffy, cash flow has to be an issue. But it is more of an issue for the side you want to come out on top and not the side you want to go under.

Don't think for a minute this SISU fianacial support whilst at Northampton will not end up in the club.

Not if the Council only sell the ground with a clause stating that the ground and club must be sold as a package in future.

They wouldn't have the debt from 5 Years at Northampton and associated revenues. Plus you don't have to own the stadium particularly on the low rent offered.

You will need more income streams than that just to pay the debt generated in the next 5 years. As for paying for the stadium, paying the players, Rates, utilities etc no chance.
It's a great plan from SISU, but it does not involve a new stadium just the Ricoh.

The "space" to watch is the big green bit in the middle.

To be fair, 30,000 people sat there watching the grass grow would get more entertainment than they did during the Coleman years.
