q1 - has start of season exceeded expectations ?

SP - "worked hard, players gelled together quickly. Fully committed. with a young squad there are always challenges along the way and a big part is how we deal with set backs"

first question from the floor

Jim - "in consideration of 50+ games, allowing for injuries etc, what are your views of our current squad"

SP - "Obvious we are thin on the ground, but a great believer in giving young players the opportunity. Not a big supporter of the loan market. If we get injuries or suspensions, I will bring in a loan"

Q - "Now we in positive points and 9 off play offs, what can we achieve this season"

SP " we need to curb expectation a little bit, we haven't endured any set backs as yet. Lucky to have 4 very good senior players, Baker, Murphy, Webster and Clarke. The team are out giving their max for the club. I want them to develop. If anybody would have said would you take avoiding relegation, absolutely !. Club has been in decline for over 15 years and that does not change overnight"

Q - "Carl what are your goals for the season"

CB - "Haven't set any, not getting carried away, taking each game at a time. When we found out about points deduction it wasnt great, we could sulk and still be in minus points, or go out and wipe the points off. They have gone now and doesn't enter our thoughts now"

q- "other teams looking at our players. What is strategy for Jan transfer window"

SP - "we are in negotiations with young players for new contracts. Every club is a selling club, be it CCFC or Man Utd. We have no intention in selling our players, we want to build a team"

SP - "i kiss my ring before the game and kiss it when we score. I am a family man"

Andy & Charlie "We sit close to dug out in Northampton and the passion oozes into the crowd, cant wait till we get bigger crowds which we will ultimately get. The pressing game and passing game is tremendous to see. As season and weather get worse and we start playing on bad pitches, how do we keep playing like this under 2ft of mud"

SP - "I am a big studier of European football. When you alanyse other teams they base a lot on "out of possession". baker will confirm we do a lot of work on out of possession football. All academies try to follow the baracelona model WITH the ball, but model is build on "out of possession" football"

q - "several managers have had Calum Wilson available to them, what have you done to make him the player he is now"

SP - "Callum came back from Pre season in great condition and is determine to succeed. He is a local lad and a Coventry supporter. Leon Clarke has also been a real influence. Very hopefully he will sign new contract. He is keen to stay at the club and is very happy in his environment "

I think Pressley is coming over VERY well as a football person and the manager of our team....
Can't be anything but impressed by pressley....very knowledgeable.knows how he wants the team to play and the players seem to have bought into his plan...things look very good on the pitch

Question from Stephen Jennings "We lost Mark Robins when things were going well. In a few months when its championship sacking season, should we be more worried when a more stable club comes knocking"

SP - "you might be calling for my head in a few months. I moved family down, moved kids into local school. I truely am committed to the job here. One thing i do need is a buy in from the supporters. There will be difficult times with these young players and we need to give ourselves time and not burden them. I really want to see the job through here"

(audience claps for only 2nd time tonight)

Q - "John Fleck, back into the Scotland squad ?"

Sp - "he has been fantastic and is now playing in his best position. He is great out of possession. it it earrly doors and his form is ok, but i want to see that over 40 odd games and if i see that, I would reccomend him to Gordon"

Q "My concern relates to FFP. With low crowds, doesnt take a mathmatician to work out if you can only spend 60% on salaries, does it mean you have to trim squad down ?"

SP - "Good question. I dont believe that to be the case. I can assure you that I am being told to secure the future of young players and there is no need to sell any players, if fact, I can sign players. Moving fwd to next season, i cant answer that. The trialists impressed, and we are going to try and secure the young left sided centre back. One difficult we have with him is substantial compo hanging over him. he is scottish"

Peter Chambers Q to CB "I would prefer us to be at Rioch, but with 10k there it seems empty, but Sixfield is a bit like being back at HR. I really enjoy going to Sixfeilds. No SISU OUT chants apart from Muppets on the mount. I wonder if that atmos for the core / loyal fans is getting through to the players"

CB "Atmosphere comes across really well. Difficult at the Ricoh as it was so sparse. When teams come to the Ricoh they were up for it, they wont be taking pics of Northampton. If we keep peformong the way we are, hopefully many more will get behind the team"

last question....

Steven Tweed "Comment on how things have changed for Jordan Clarke as he was in bomb squad"

SP - "Nothing makes me happier than his peformances. I told him he wasn't part of my plans as I hadn't seen right mentality. He went away and got himself fitter and better state of mind. We gave him a 2nd chance and he hasn't looked back. He needed that kick up the backside"

Two main points were we are looking to sign the Scottish centre back who has been on trial and we are in discussions with the young players over new contracts, could have some news over the next few weeks
