If we tie up all the youngsters, who's going to play for us*?!?! LOL! Only joking, mate! Just a bit of fun for Friday! Better than me calling you a 'muppet'!!! BIG LOL!!!

(*I've intentionally misinterpreted the comment as the young players literally being tied up for the purposes of my joke!)

Im surprised that Willis was the first one to sign given that he see's Jordan Clarke chosen ahead of him every week despite it not being Clarke's position..................... Fair play to him though, have always rated him, hope he gets a run in the side

I agree but I see the 'short term-ness' of the deal as a positive. I reckon that SP and SW would've sat down and said something along the lines of 'you're young, you're talented and other clubs could be interested in you. Give us even just 2 years on a new deal and you'll see that we're taking the club forward'.

The plan being that they get the younger talents to committ to shorter term deals on the basis of lets take this club forward immediately and if we don't you're at the end of your contract and free to go. If we're a division higher this time next year, they can then negotiate better terms (with increased TV revenue and league revenue at least).

Just my take on it anyway.

Good news. I imagine Daniels will be next, then 'we are really close to agreeing with both Callum and Cyrus'...then the inevitable sale. Hope i'm wrong though!:)

[h=1]Coventry City: Jordan Willis signs new Sky Blues contract[/h]
Coventry City defender Jordan Willis has signed a new two-year contract, with the option of a further year.

A product of the Sky Blues youth system, the 19-year-old made his debut against Southampton in 2011 and has so far played 11 first-team games.

Last season, a loan move to Nuneaton fell through, but he has been involved in five games for Coventry this term.

"[He's] a very talented young defender and we have very high hopes for him at this club," boss Steven Pressley said.

Willis' last three appearances have been as a substitute, but Pressley believes the former England Under-19 international has the potential to make a real impact at the club.

"He must continue to work extremely hard, but his chance will come. And, when it does, he can go on to be a big player for this football club.

"Jordan's attitude epitomises the values we want to uphold at this football club," he added.
